I have watched a lot of sports debate shows this week and Davis has taken a beating. From Barkley calling him street clothes to Stephen A. questioning how he takes care of himself off the court to being called soft and fragile by many others. Could that talk have pressured him into coming back early? Edit: I also made a bet with myself somewhere in this thread that I'd contribute $50 if Davis misses 2 or more games. He only missed one. Now, I'll make another and contribute $50 if the Lakers lose the series.
I compare it to GSW 2 years ago...how everyone in sports media (Stephen A. specifically) was begging KD to come back even though GSW was down 3-1, and he clearly wasn't 100%. He definitely felt the pressure to come back in Game 5, and when he did, his Achilles was ruptured in the 1st Half.
LeBron is a master manipulator of the narrative. It all started with him saying hell never be 100% again, thereby giving himself tbe excuse he needed if he lost- and its all you see the media talking about-lebrons just not healthy enough. On the flip side, he crafted a story where if they win, he looks even more impressive. He's manufactured stories like this whole career. If theres any franchise who can get a helping hand from the refs and no one bats an eye- it's the Lakers. I just don't see the NBA accepting Utah/Dallas/Phoenix/Denver to come out of the west. As good as Luka is. As good as Joker is. As good as the jazz and suns play. Theres no major ratings draw unless the NBA wants Luka to be the next Larry Bird great white hype. Kawahi and PG don't sell either and the Clippers brand doesn't sell so its got to be the Lakers.
Didn't even pull out Tony Brothers or even Zach Zarba. Not sure this crew has the cojones to do Silver's dirty work
Trainers wrong for letting AD play... He can barely move.... Over/under 2 AD flops because of his injury?
