Tyus Jones is a better POINT GUARD than Ja, but the Grizzlies need Ja to beat the Lakers in the series. This game in particular ain't over, but they can win this game without Ja because Jones is a nice player.

On the defensive end, the Grizzlies are low-key targeting him, not one-on-one, but off ball. For example, his man is receiving passes and he's late to challenge the shot. When he goes off the court, the Lakers go on a run; when he comes back on the court, the Grizzlies go on a run.

The Lakers can help themselves out by pushing Hachimura and Vanderbilt more to take some load off of James and Davis....I still like the Lakers to win this series.

Brooks is in a good spot to be like that. LeBron will either give you defense but not too much on offense - G1 - or more offense but little defense -G2 -. Either way, Brooks can feel good about himself. And he knows that LeBron is too old to beat the Grizzlies by himself. He knows Davis is the key. The Lakers are still the favorites, but they aren't if LeBron is out there trying to prove he ain't old.

Well yeah thats the plan and why he was ranked so high. Hopefully he turns out better since JJ is always injured and unavailable to play.

Yes I also hope Jabari turns out better than a DPOY who shoots well from the 3.

Judging by the guy's stats, he is the one who should be concerned with getting old - his stats are going downhill it seems. Who cares what he has to say - another loudmouth like Draymond. And unlike Donkey, few people would recognize this dude, because he hasn't done much in the league - they'd probably think his "DB" chain stands for DragonBall. Klay is not totally off for flashing rings at the dude.

Why do you care about all of that?

What does Brooks have to lose? He's trying to gain an advantage for his team by baiting LeBron into a selfish game. The Lakers are favored, they have the two best players in the series, they have health, they have the refs and media, they have the depth and Hillbilly Kobe.

Something about having a lot of playoff experience and not engaging in BS.

And that came across as much more legit than whatever it was that a loudmouth clown DB drooled about in his interview.

I can't understand the word or words he said I don't want to talk about... ??? I got the rest of it.

LeBron looked affected by the comments. Which is what Brooks was after. We'll see what happens.

The Lakers are at their best when Davis leads them in scoring and LeBron plays boring, but consistent defense. They still need Reaves and Hachimura to stay hot. And they need Russell to get comfortable. He's already low-key complaining about not being the point guard. That will be tough if LeBron is trying to prove to the world he ain't old. Dude just needs to embrace the oldness and not try to hold on to a youth that is as gone as his hairline.

that's just it though. if i were brooks i would stfu. he is old and still doing amazing for his age. imagine if the ages were reversed between the two players. lebron is infinitely better than that idiot.

It's like when an inferior fighter tries to bait his superior opponent to fight in the only way he has a chance to beat him. Like when a fighter with a good stand-up game tries to bait a fighter with a decent stand-up game but a dominant ground game to stand up with him.

Brooks knows LeBron's all-around game with energy available for defense could hurt the Grizzlies much more than LeBron's diminished scoring game with lazy defense.
