Who knows if he's being real, I have no idea what's in his heart or head, but I think he is wrong on most of his points.

    1. I did not watch the RNC, but I did watch LeBron talk about how all Black people of all ages are living in fear -all while halfway smirking, BTW-. Everyone says Durant is the snake, but this dude LeBron James is the real serpent king of the NBA.

    2. The focus should not be on being loved by this country, but on loving each other. I understand that Black people in this country could do everything right and still be caught up in deleterious situations, but you focus on doing right and you minimize that chance to almost zero. This country is a hoe, anyway, no real man falls in love with a w****.

    3. Doc Rivers, you are not a color. And if you were, it wouldn't be black anyway. Asians don't ever say they are yellow, they say they are Asian or better yet, they say they are Chinese or Vietnamese or Korean and they get offended if you confuse them with something they are not. Hispanics, although not as much as before, sadly, are similar, they don't refer to themselves as a color either, they also claim some sort of nationality that is attached to culture. Even white people, again, not so much anymore, refer to themselves as a nationality because that is also attached to culture. And immigrants from African countries also refuse to designate themselves as a color. This is a major problem.

    4. Police often go to these protests in riot gear because riots often break out at them. Police were treated terribly by the white dudes protesting in Michigan, yes, but they ain't attending protests today filled with gentlemen, gentlewomen, and scholars. They're being treated worse.

    5. Yes, lots of change needs to happen with law enforcement in this country, but when a system tends to benefit one people while being run by that same people, you cannot expect that people to give it up willingly. That is why it is incumbent on all people who are not in that power position to avoid that system until more of your people populate it and take some power from it. You can't do that when you constantly, over and over again, do things that put you right in the mouth and belly of that system.

    6. I know cops do a lot of good, but their main function is to "clean up the streets." When you clean anything, you deal with trash so in that way cops deal with human trash. They are society's garbage disposal. Sometimes that will look like protecting, what Doc wants them to do, but they take out everyone's garbage, it's just that some communities have more garbage to clean.

    7. Yes, the video was outrageous. It is outrageous to see the guy resist arrest, refuse to follow instructions, and reach into a car in a way that often results in cops being shot. IMO, there are very, very few people in this country that would have handled that situation differently than the cop did. Most men in this country would have panicked just like the shooter did and shot the guy.

    8. ALL fathers should talk to their sons and daughters about their behavior when pulled over or otherwise interacting with cops. ALL OF THEM. Follow instructions, don't be a jerk, don't resist arrest, don't fight the cops, don't do things that are threatening to the cops. But first and foremost, don't do anything that will garner the attention of the cops in the first place. Yes, Black fathers need to drive these points harder to their sons and daughters, that is 100% true, but ALL fathers need to do this.

    9. Then, he goes on to make a fool of himself just like many other NBA players calling for arrests that will never ever happen. Notice how these dudes are never asked what charge could the cops be convicted of? Probably because they wouldn't be convicted of anything. Cops shot back at someone shooting one of their own and a cop shot a dude reaching into his car with guns drawn. The best people could expect from the Taylor case and the Blake case is for the officers to get fired only to catch on at another police force.

It's not an act. Whether you like his speech depends on whether you agree with him. It's always like that. We like people who agree with us.

Democrats watch the DNC and get pumped up. Republicans watch the RNC and get pumped up. People who actually watch the opposing party's convention do so to pick out things that believe are wrong.

lol his father was a cop hunting down innocent people he has no right to speak...he believes in good cops...imho there's no such thing cause every single cop is pushing the laws down our throats and as it says in @Rocket River signature
THERE IS NO LAW SO TRIVIAL, THAT THE STATE WONT KILL YOU TO ENFORCE IT!

My dear fellows cfers, the law is the problem, the oppression of the people by the people is done through laws and anybody being against oppression and for the law is in contradiction...all the cries for the equality et cetera are just cries for more violence , injustice and oppression just of a different kind...
oh its not ok to kill black people but its ok to kill people who dont pay taxes...lololol its not right to terrorize black people but it is ok to terrorize people who wouldn't obey the laws...

    What a tone-deaf post.

    1. LeBron might not be 100% right in that all black people live in fear. But he's also not completely wrong. I'm willing to bet no other 'color' or nationality of people are more fearful of police encounters in America, than black people. What does LeBron being a snake have to do with his point? You're re-directing for some reason.

    2. What does 'loving each other' even mean? Doc's point of 'loving the country' is that black people pay taxes at every level, volunteer to serve the armed forces and otherwise contribute to the good of American society...and yet these shootings still happen. Not sure what 'loving each other' has to do with anything.

    3. Are you seriously gatekeeping what people can and cannot ID themselves by? If you want to talk about the nuances of ID'ing by 'color,' look no further than America's racial history. Signs didn't say "no Africans allowed." Signs said "no colored allowed." It is so weird that, just because Asians don't call themselves yellow, black people can't call themselves black.

ps. you literally type "black" three times in your post. Not "African." "Black." So you, yourself, ID people in a way that's apparently wrong? Lol??

    5. How the hell are you supposed to instigate change without "putting yourself in the mouth and belly of that system?" You can't just sit idly by and wait for someone who shares the same views (but also in the minority) to suddenly get power. Without the Civil Rights Movement, I shudder to think where we'd be even today. You have to actively do something, to get that change.

    7. I'm sorry - resist arrest? What were the cops arresting him for? From what I've read, Blake was there to break up a domestic dispute. If you can find a report that says the cops were there to arrest Blake and that Blake resisted arrest, please share it. So the protocol for someone "resisting arrest" is to grab them by the back of their clothing and empty your entire magazine into their back? Cool, didn't know that was part of the Kenosha police handbook. Good to know.

    8. You're helping strengthen Doc's point. Of course all parents will talk with their kids on how to act in a general police situation. But the fact that black parents need to "drive a harder point" means there's something wrong with the police force. Because why would the point need to be made more detailed, to a specific set of people? Do you hear yourself, OP?

    9. You're equating "calling for arrests" to "call for an investigation." By putting a charge on police officers in whatever case, that ensures that case at least gets investigated. I get it - people usually speak from the heart when talking about this, especially if all you've seen is the video and some quick news reports about it. I don't see Doc as being a fool, but if you do, then you do.

Hey, the other day I admitted to being tone-deaf at times, I forgot why, but it's true. Good catch.

    1. Doc Rivers said that fear was a focus of the RNC, I said that I can't confirm or deny that, but that LeBron James and he himself definitely talked about fear. So, what's good for the goose is good for the gander? As a response to your points, I say that no one should fear police interactions. That fear leads people to make bad decisions. Do what's right and/or what's asked of you by the police and you will avoid 99% of these serious negative interactions with the police. I bring in LeBron because 1) I do have a bias against him that I freely admit, 2) he will never have a negative interaction with the police, 3) he was half-way smiling when he was saying that because he really doesn't believe the crap he's saying, and 4) I think he's the serpent king of the NBA. But again, I do have a bias against LeBron so maybe I am wrong. Still, point 1 was that Rivers himself focused on fear in his message.

    2. If you love each other you wouldn't give two ***** about this country loving you. What asking for the country to love you as a Black man amounts to is asking white people to love you. Again, you wouldn't care about white people loving you if you love each other. Asking for someone to love you is sad and invites disrespect.

    3. This connects to a larger point that I like to focus on: culture. There is no culture in the colors Black, White, Yellow, Brown, or Red. But there is in Dominican, Irish, Korean, Mexican, and Cherokee. When people designate themselves by color, I believe they deculturize themselves. That is a big problem, IMO. I refer to Black people as Black because I personally lack a better title and so do they. That's sad.

    5. You want to be at the head of the system, not the mouth and belly of the system, that's where food goes. You don't want to be food, you want to be part of the brain or better yet, the brain. When you make crap decisions, you become the food of the system. Disposable.

"That is why it is incumbent on all people who are not in that power position to avoid that system until more of your people populate it and take some power from it."

You take control and power at the head. No one respects people who beg for stuff, they respect those who take control.

    7. On the D&D thread of this case, there is a police radio recording in which people dispatch talks about Blake being involved in the domestic dispute and that he had a warrant or warrants out for his arrest. He resisted arrest prior to him walking to his car door. More will come out from this case and it will probably make Blake look more in the wrong. My prediction, who knows.

    8. Doc Rivers said that only Black fathers need to have these conversations with their kids. I say he's wrong. I say that's BS. EVERY father needs to have those conversations. That was my contention. I do believe that Black fathers need to drive this point home more AND be examples to follow in these situations. Why? Because whites control law enforcement and the judicial system and will give preferential treatment to each other. So my solution isn't to beg them to stop, they have no reason to concede anything, or to thrash city blocks in temper tantrums, this could be used to enact even tougher consequences on people, but to take some of that power away from them by becoming a major player in that system.

    9. "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge." You can't speak from the heart and expect to be taken seriously by serious people. They're not calling for an investigation, they are calling for arrests. Arrests that are irrational given the well-known and lesser-known facts of the cases. You can't demand what you can never get and expect to be taken seriously. You'll look like a fool and childish.

What's a better story for the media? Doncic carrying a Porzingis-less Mavs team past the Clippers, or the Clippers super duo of Kawhi and PG advancing past wunderkind Doncic?

I stop reading after you said lbj would never have a interaction like that with cops lol.
I assume u are implying cause he famous....u are aware he wasnt always famous believe it or not...so I assure u he has has a racist encounter before. Oh n the whole overarching theme is racism right. U are aware of that...

Oh n another tip. Just because no racist or police brutality hasn't happened to you doesnt me you cant be a advocate for change lmao. Thats where it's pointless to have a discussion with u. White people can stand up for racist inequalities cause u know people can sometimes just be understanding and good people.

N i guess thats a talking point that doesn't more anyone when yall say like oh rich athletes like most of those guys didn't grow up in the hood n become great at something to get out of it lol. U think they forgot lmao.

I think that was a little acting from Luka.

I also didn't think Morris stepping on Luka's foot was intentional.

watch out for this dude if we see the Clippers in the WCF...when Harden starts cooking him, he’ll start acting up worse than Matt Barnes in 2015
