Damn what a Night! Luka is legit! (Tho we already knew that). Don’t let the harden comparisons spoil your appreciation of it. Harden is our mvp and he’s playing well, we’ve got a 2-1 lead without Russ. It’s okay!
I'm sorry but it is impossible to have one of the greatest playoff performances in the first round. It's just impossible. The first round of the NBA playoffs is like an extension of the regular season really lol.
No doubt. I go further and say Luka won't be focusing on scoring. He might never be the scorer Harden is, alas, nobody is. He would go the Lebron way. Unicorns named Kristapses need to be fed regularly.
It's not chicken or the EGG, Luka is great, but he doesnt make them more efficient as shooters. Do you see how Trey Burke, Curry, and Hardaway Jr peformed....that's not because of Luka himself.
cant we go back to the good ol days when the mavs great white savior was chandler parsons. those were the days.
I think they probably mean stat-wise. But to be fair, he didn't have Porzingis and the Clippers are highly touted.
Lol that's an understatement. 1st rounds are low bottom playoffs but still above regular season games.
isnt this the truth.. the same way Dame gets that one last second shot against the Rockets played infinitum. Even if clippers end up winning, they will play this shot and game highlights until the end of time!
I'm jealous of Mavs coaching, always have been. Mavs front office has done a great job putting this roster together too. Chandler Parsons was Chandler Parsons.
nba gonna have to reinstate defense at some point or luka's career totals are going to look insane. basically like if lebron started in this era.
i mean, they were the 7th seed with an mvp candidate and they haven't won a playoff series in 9 years. not sure we're missing out on that much.
I'm saying that they are better shooters because they play with a playmaker like Luka. Prior to this year, Hardaway was like 33% for his career. He shot 39.8% this year. Trey Burke always shot 34% for his career and 42% in the 8 games on Dallas (small sample size alert). Curry could always shoot of course, he just needed some time and the right team. I haven't looked at the stats so I can't say definitively that Luka has increased his teammates' shooting percentages. But I don't think it's controversial to say that excellent playmakers make things easier for spot-up shooters. As for this game in particular... no I did not see how they performed. I didn't turn it on until there was 3.7 seconds left in OT. So I can't comment on their performances this game.
Their last championship is more recent than the Rockets. And it was to beat Lebron's superteam. I'd trade all the Yao + T-Mac eras for that one year in a heartbeat.
The franchise is very stable, though. Doncic and Porzingis haven't even hit their peak yet and Carlisle is Carlisle. Can see them be one of the best teams in the league very soon.
