Mcgrady with the ball in his hands to end the game and finally reach the 2nd round. A Cinderella ending that's fitting. This is one of the most heartwarming moments in NBA history. Somebody needs to make a movie about this.
Does anyone know what Dwight said to Kupchak as he walked off? he looked pissed and Kupchak didnt even turn around
Dwight post-game: (2nd Tech): Just frustration. Nothing we can do about it now. (Tech foul & getting ejected): It's over with now. Gotta do a better job keeping my cool. You're out there playing out there, it's an emotional game, you don't want to lose, when things don't go your way, sometimes you react the wrong way. I just gotta keep my cool. (Sum up this entire season?): This (season) is like a nightmare. A bad dream. Couldn't wake up out of it. That's what it felt like. Nothing could go right from the start. Injuries and all that stuff. We get an opportunity to get some rest for guys who are injured, a chance to rehab, and think about what we can all do to better ourselves. (Sounds like you're leaning towards coming back?): You're reading too much into it. (Any way the team can turn the heartbreaking season into something positive?): Right now, everybody is upset about how the season ended. We'll take some time away from the game and just focus on us. Focus on getting better. (Was this year a good representation of who you are as a player?): It was a rocky year. A lot of things happened that I didn't have control over. I think I handled some situations good, some bad. It's a growing process and I'm gonna keep learning. That's why we have an off-season - to reflect on the good & bad during the season and make it better for the next year. (You talk about this being a growing process - talk about the biggest learning that has happened?) A lot of things I learned this year. (Physical state during the season?): Coming back super early from a major surgery was tough. I tried to give everything I had and leave it on the floor. I was in pain for the whole season. I wanted to play through it, fight through it. I'm gonna keep fighting. (Is there a perception that you should feel guilty for doing your due diligence in FA?): I'm going to step away from everything for a couple weeks and clear my head before I do or talk about anything, as far as next season. I think I deserve that. That's what I'm gonna do. (Relationship with Kobe): We've had a pretty good relationship. Before I got here and a lot of people twisted things, the fake fights and arguments that we supposedly had. We've maintained a pretty good relationship. I'm gonna continue to be here for him throughout the process that he has to go through, recovery from his achilles. (Does his injury bring you guys closer?): I don't think we were that far apart. We're not best friends but I'm gonna be there for him. Having an injury is a tough thing to deal with alone. I want to be there for him as a brother before anything. (As the season unfolded with D'Antoni, do you think coming back and playing for him again can be a situation that is beneficial for you?): I don't want to talk about anything that's for the upcoming season or next year. I want to reflect on this year and try to get myself better, come back 100%. (Did you and Kobe speak after the game?): I didn't see him. (Did you see Kobe come on the court when you were leaving?): I didn't see anybody. I didn't even know he went out there.
Posted in other Lakers thread... Has the TNT crew officially sent them fishing yet? If not, I need to DVR Inside the NBA tonight...
