All those regular season wins for naught if you're Denver. This shows the importance of having a superstar, a player that cannot be stopped.
Denver getting exposed. As inspiring as it is to have a strong team without a superstar, this is the time when a star is needed most. Veteran presence can only do so much for you. On the other hand, I have no idea how Golden State managed to only get 6th seed, barely edging out on us in terms of record. So much talent on that team.
Iggy was supposed to be their star. I mean he was supposedly the Sixers star the seasons where they made the playoffs on a consistent basis. He was also an All-Star last season.
And the worst one of all? Getting knocked out by Denver in 1994 when he was coaching Seattle- a sometimes overlooked factor in the Rockets' run to their first championship.
Because Bogut does to their defensive efficiency what Asik does to ours, whilst not being an offensive liability at the same time.
I'd say Ty Lawson is there best player. If Andre Igoudala is your "star" player you are not going far in the playoffs.
The poster was asking how they're not a higher seed, if I read it right. Curry and Bogut were out for a bit of time throughout the regular season, iirc. If everyone was healthy all season, they'd be a top 3 seed. Getting Bogut from Milwaukee for Monta was genius.
He's not broke by any stretch of the imagination. He lost A LOT, but he still has a crap-ton of money.
He's overrated. Pretty good regular season coach but his resume is littered with first round exits. Assuming they lose today, he would've lost 14 of his 22 total playoff appearances in the 1st round...9 of his last 10 playoff appearances in the 1st round...8 of the last 9 Nuggets playoff appearances in the 1st round...he's only coached the Nuggets out of the 1st round once and it's not like he didn't have a "star" most of the time.
