Everytime after I watched the CNT play, it gives me headache and uneasy feeling, they just suck like that.

However, after watching this game, I started to believe in GOD. LOL........

Seriously, this is probably the best game ever for CNT when I actually watch them play, the last couple minutes is pretty intensive and amazing.

So will China advance? I thought China had to win more than 3 points to advance

I saw it, it looks to me that Boki doesn't really give a shiz about the outcome, all he wanted to do is to chat with Yao and beg Yao to pay him back.

    LOL...

Give Yao a bit more credit. His foot isn't as fragile as Penny Hardaway's knee.

Well, we can't do much about Yao playing heavy minutes in WC. It's Yao choice, but I'm happy because that mean, the coming season is definitely going to be the Yao we want to see. YES!!!! GO ROCKETS!!!

Well, not much (or say nothing) we can do. He himself chose to play and I am sure he wants to be out there on the court 40 mins in every game too. As the fans we can only pray that he will make it out of the tournament healthy.

Zhu Fangyu has been practiced this shot ever since he came back from the europe tour last month where he found there is little chance for him to release the 3pt shot after he set his foot against europe players. and his effort is well paid off!

I think the first tiebreaker rule is head-to-head. Since China beats Slovenia, and they are tied, China should advance if Puerto Rico wins. But if Puerto Rico lost, it creates a 3-way tie. Head-to-head amongst these 3 teams will be strange, as Slov beat PR who beat China who beat Slov. The next tie-breaker is point differential.

Bad form replying to my own post. To continue, looks like China will lose the point differential. Does it mean China does NOT advance if PR loses?

pt differential is calculated in games played among the three, which have settled already in this order

    1.Slo
    2.CHN
    3.PR

SAPPORO, Japan (AP) - Yao Ming scored 36 points and Wang Shipeng made a three-pointer as time expired to give China a 78-77 victory over Slovenia on Thursday that kept alive its hopes of reaching the second round of the world championships.

The Chinese (2-3) won their final two Group D games, and would be guaranteed of a spot in Saitama if Puerto Rico beats Italy in a later game.

Sani Becirovic scored 20 points for Slovenia, which could have clinched a berth in the second round in its world championships debut, but instead was forced to wait with the Chinese for the results of the second game and hope a three-way tiebreaker worked out in its favour.

With four NBA players on its roster, Slovenia (2-3) was thought to be the second-best team behind the United States in Group D. But the Slovenians blew double-digit leads in two of their losses - including a 14-point lead in this one.

Interesting point. I think you might be right. Plus, Italy would have to be favored against Puerto Rico ... so it looks like the odds are still against China on this one.
