We are the girls from Norfolk. We don't smoke. We don't drink. Norfolk! Norfolk! (guess who's having fun with the search engine)
considering the male:female ratio... not many females in CF.net bbs... Do you feel special, weird, or stalked?
you know, 20 years from now the people who'll own the copyright to this bugs bunny is going to reinvent them all over and your kids are going to be complaining and whining how great it was when they were watching it as kids. i'm sure your childhood experiences were very precious to you but let these kids experience their own childhood without having their 'anime' or whatever they watch being put down by their old folks. theres a good reason they had to change bugs bunny and the looney tunes, its because they suck and no ones watching anymore.
blasphemy... You can add new ones for the new generations, but keep the old ones. They have never "sucked" and never will.
While I agree with your 'the original wasn't all that' point (although I personally do like Looney Tunes), I disagree that reinventing is necessarily any better. In this case, I fully agree that WB is nuts to try to reinvent Bugs Bunny and crew in this way. If you want an action cartoon, just create a new one. This Loonatics crap sounds terrible.
thanks Oski but the one episode i saw over the weekend was vanity and other smurf were captured by two fairy princesses and vanity kept going on and on about how beautiful the dresses they princesses were wearing. now that i think about it there was a lot of strange stuff about that show
OK, I remember now. Of course, it went right over my head when I was young and actually watching. With only one Smurfette between all of them, it's probably just as well...
Most horrible thing ever! How can yhou rid little kids of the oringnal looney tunes! Uprising needs to get soome...been too long....
Those new ones look stupid. Reminds me of Batman Beyond or whatever that stupid stylized Batman was called.
on the one hand, this is true for many things. whatever one generation likes as a kid tjey consider the best and anything that comes out for the next generation is considered stupid by the old one. but looney toons have been around forever and been liked forever. they are classic. bugs bunny is pretty much the greatest cartoon character ever (aside from a few tortoise v hare cartoons, did the guy ever lose) and the rest of them are classic as well. who can't catch one of them on tv and still enjoy it somewhat even as you get older. classic and timeless. of course, having said all that, if it makes them more money, i guess they're doing the right thing. but like other have said, don't screw around with the looney toons characters, just make some new ones. yeah, if you're ever watching one, about halfway throught it'll hit you that if you get past the fact it's a cartoon and fake, it's some of the most violent stuff you'll ever see. guys getting slammed with anvils, burned with irons and skillets, getting blown away with guns, blown up with firecrackers, characters constantly trying to kill each other, characters like bugs who screw around with people just for kicks with no remorse, and then the offensive stuff like others have mentioned that amazes you that they ever showed it. still, who doesn't love cartoon violence.
batman beyond was a great cartoon. it was set in the future as well but i liked the transition of having batman being passed on when wayne became too old. the show had good writing and was entertaining much like the batman cartoon made by wb during the early to mid 90s (same voices/animators/writers) this new looney tunes show just doesnt look to be anything worthwhile
