He could do no such thing. Roaches are too small to crush me.

He is MUCH improved since joining the league. Almost night and day. I don't have much of an issue with Yao's in-game determination to dominate and take it to the other team. Of course, there are some games where he's still too passive, but the 5-10 game disappearing acts from his first 2-3 years are long gone. The problem is Yao's physical limitations (slow foot speed, lack of hops, etc) make him a smaller target (for passes) than we'd like and that allows defenses to take him out of games relatively easily considering his size. The bottom line is beginning with his spurt at the end of the 05/06 season, Yao has been a different player mentally.

Kind of on topic: I want Yao to look at films of Scola, who never moves backwards when shooting the ball, EVER. It's either towards the basket or straight up. Yao should shoot fewer fade-aways. To me, he is conceding ground and doing what the defender wants him to do. I'm aware he does this to avoid getting blocked but Scola isn't a jumping jack when he shoots either. Perhaps Yao's slow release allows the defender to time the block better.

do the rockets have a motivator or a sports physciatrist or whatever they are called? Many sportsmen, golf pros etc. have them.

Maybe they should try it to instill some killer mentality...

They need to get Rudy back on the payroll. Have him get hammered and come give the guys inspirational halftime speeches.
