I thought I was against waterboarding until this option came up. I think we need to do it to save our nation.

It's time to send a strong message to athletes who use performance enhancing drugs.

LOL at trying to make a fool's comparison of attempting to extract life-saving information related to a terrorist plot as compared to extracting information about a steroid plot. Azadre, your foolish rage continues to amaze...

the irony is that's the problem. you allow waterboarding for what you deem is neccessary, then there's no ending to what you will deem neccessary.

I mean these athletes are role models right. all this is for the kids right? kids not doing steroids isn't worth waterboarding?

I think we should. It's about our children's future, so it's important enough.

From today’s New York Daily News –

Presidential politics could take Roger Clemens off the hook

When Roger Clemens mentioned in his testimony before Congress on Wednesday that a former President had tracked him down in a duck blind to wish him well before this week's congressional hearing on the Mitchell Report, the stage was set for questions about the influence of the White House on any possible prosecution of Clemens.

The former President was George H.W. Bush, the father of the current President and a longtime Clemens friend. A lawyer for Brian McNamee, Clemens' chief accuser, told the Daily News on Thursday he wouldn't be surprised to see President Bush intervene in any criminal investigation of Clemens, possibly by issuing a preemptive pardon.

"I thought it was strange that an apolitical issue broke down by political lines," said Earl Ward, McNamee's lead attorney. "Roger Clemens gets a call from George Bush on the day of the hearing?

Then the Republican delegates treat him with kid gloves?"

The prospect of a pardon further alarms observers who see a way out for Clemens while Barry Bonds fights to stay out of jail and Marion Jones has been sentenced.

The Constitution gives the President the authority to grant pardons for any federal crime. President Bush, who may be gone from office by the time any possible criminal investigation of Clemens could be concluded, could possibly extend a preemptive pardon that would shield Clemens before an indictment would be handed down.
