It's too bad. What could have been... I don't hate Royce. I'm not even angry with him. I hope he gets the help he needs. I'm more disappointed in Fred Hoiberg for making the recommendation. Surely he had an idea of the seriousness of Royce's condition. Oh well.
I think at this point fans should just sit back and enjoy this guy's farce. I proclaimed him being one of the biggest draft jokes in recent history... sadly it has come true. Such a clown I guess and think this will end very comically.
Is this the Twitter version of a doctor's note to call in sick? I'll try that with my boss and see how long I stay working.
This guy needs to come clean (with himself) and admit that basketball is not his passion, and that being a media clown for a platform of self-righteousness is his calling.
Royce doesn't seem to have the concept of 'sacrifice' in his mind. In his interview with Grantland, he was adament that everybody was slightly mentally unhealthy and that all society, work places, etc should accomodate that. Unfortunately, he doesn't seem to realise that some sacrifice is needed in order to perform tasks. If he sticks by his beliefs, then there is absolutely nothing the NBA can offer him. Somebody with the the same athleticism but a better head will come along to replace him. High hopes for Royce White, but I just wish that somehow the Rockets interviewing process could've discovered these flaws and not draft him
We knew about these flaws when drafting him - and there was certainly a risk he might not be able to mentally function in the NBA. But we had 3 mid-teen draft picks in 2012 - and it wasn't a huge deal if one of them turned out to be a bust. And had Royce White been able to play, he'd have have been worth far more than the 16th pick.
I was listening to Matt Thomas on 790 at work and he was on a rant about White today after his tweet. I just can't believe we have another season with this guy.
How? He could have been a brilliant passer (Terrence *cough* Williams), but he couldn't shoot worth a hoot (T-*cough*-Will). Also, he was too short to be an effective PF and too slow to be a SF. Also, he proved to be a mediocre rebounder.
Easy millions. Royce should send a *thank you* letter to Morey. Just the latest in a long line of Morey busts.
