my knee is not like Brandon's, but I have lost cartilage behind my kneecap. So where can I get this procedure DD?
yeah he's the penny of this era <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/QFMBWqffvb0?fs=1&hl=vi_VN"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/QFMBWqffvb0?fs=1&hl=vi_VN" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
money aside.. just imagine doing something you love and to have it end because of something you couldn't forseeably control.. you can't help but feel bad for the guy a little bit because he's such a class act and a good guy
I think their main problem is that they're always catching breaks, specially around the knees area. see, it's funny because they always get injured players. no? whatever
He looks bad. And I have seen him play and looks like the worst thing for him to overcome is the mental part. He looks just about to be done, sad and just shot. Very, very sad. I loved the guy.
Of course had he played with the Rockets, his entire career path would have changed and he may have never been injured.
actually with our luck he probably would have been injured even sooner and would probably be out of the league by now
I'm pretty sure they can already grow tissue and insert it (some people have had it done), knee cartilage though? dunno, but i would think it'd be one of the easier things (certainly easier than say organs)
A good friend of mine had that done, he was a soccer player and had no cartlidge, they grew it in a lab and sewed it in and he is much better now. DD
I'm sure at this point they can grow cartilage in the lab and then sew it into the place where the meniscus should be, but I doubt that the regrown cartilage can withstand the rigors of professional sports. Also, everyday that he plays with no meniscus, he is doing damage to his articular cartilage, the cartilage that coats the surface of the bones within the joint, when that gets worn away, then he would only be able to replace that with microfracture surgery.
Seems that the players that explode and jump and dunk like crazy don't last very long. You look at Kobe and he doesn't rely on his athleticism but on his skills like his out side shooting. I wonder if the way guys plays affect their longevity. But all in all very sad. Too bad we didn't get Roy. Roy, McGrady, and Yao would have won us a ring before they all went down with injuries. That would have been better than how it all turned out.
