...i guess it balanced out their team, but i rather pick the better player and see how it goes, you can always trade him for something good. He always looked like he moved with issues. He developed a shorter leg when he was younger. That alone should have been a HUGE red flag for Portland.
Typically these days the way to regenerate cartilage in the knee is microfracture surgery.... which is not good for Roy. I can see him getting it after this season, or maybe even shutting it down in the middle of this season.
Most players who undergo microfracture surguries have a region of defected cartilage on their knees. In Brandon Roy's case, he has absolutely zero cartilage left in either of his knees. Even microfracture surgery won't help him much. It is sad but Roy's career is pretty much over.
this is what stem cell research is for jokes aside, they can grow most other tissue out of stem cells so, it might be worth a go.
no you don't know basketball, it's pretty much a debatable comparison A prime Roy was a lot more well rounded than Wade, but wade is a lot more athletically gifted. Plus we probably never the saw the prime Roy because of his damn knee, his "prime" was his second and third year..
i think the only solution for him is to rest, and the only route is play when he feels good (tmac route?) very unfortunate. all rocket fans saw the demise of a player due to a knee injury
apparently, his knee cartilage is not going to grow back again. and I read that MF surgery is not an option an either. God knows what he is going to do. really sad to see him go down this route. what a talent and a joy to watch.
we've shown far more ignorance then them. For one, we've stuk with a guy thats gotten injured 5 seasons in a row and we continued to build around him. Thats why we went from mediocre to bad while bad teams got good.
Yea its pretty sad hes only 26 and his career may be over. I remember a few years ago everyone thought Portland would be the next big thing and it all comes down like this damn that does suck. Maybe he can still be a nice player but from the look of things him being a superstar them days are gone.
If Tracy didnt hurt his knee do you think things would have turned out the same? Because I sure dont.
To be fair, we practically had no assets until we got Landry and Scola in 07. Before then, we had Luther Head, Juwan Howard, Rafer Alston, Dikembe Mutombo, Chuck Hayes, Shane Battier and, if you can count him, Bonzi Wells. It's actually something that we took Utah to 7 with that team. When Adelman took over, Tracy free-falled. So, no, they weren't being thick-headed. It just so happened that, when the help finally arrived, it was Tracy that was falling behind.
