I think it's safe to assume that DMo, PPat, Morris and TJones are just filling roster spots right now and that as soon as a trade for a next-tier PF becomes available, any combination of those 4 could be shipped out. It's no use worrying at this point whether DMo gets the playing time that he might deserve if he's possibly part of a trade package. However, my feeling is that McHale is not playing DMo because he and the coaching staff feel that the core group still needs a lot of playing time together to gel - right now, they aren't playing as a cohesive unit.
I think this is a big part of it. DMo did very well in the D-League and knows how to play and fit in the system. At this point he needs to get bigger and stronger. It is the opposite with Jones.
There is very little practice in the NBA. Players cannot be developed just through practice in the NBA, because there is so little practice time.
It looks as though Morey is staggering their D-League assignments (Jones & Moteijunas) so that they can get equal amount of experience with PT. See guys, Morey isn't as evil as you all want to make him out to be.
I knew Morey was doing the right thing. It just didn't look so at first with the constant up and down to the D-league. Really looking forward to see how he does there.
