35% of Americans are r****ded. Wow. That's impressive considering how popular Bush is with the American people.
For some off reason . . . I cannot get that seen from LOST out of my minf I am Syed. . and I am a torturer. - Syed on Lost I feel bad for this guy. Memories can definately taint you for a long time after the actual event Rocket River
Since almost all prolonged forms of interrogation could be considered torture, I think they (terrorists) should be placed alone with their thoughts but without anything to read or to do in a sound-proofed military cell. If and when they want to talk, they will. If they don't, it's their choice. In the interim, they are not a danger to the public.
Are you a simpleton? It would seem that anyone else would realize there are more than 2 choices of what we should do with terrorists. The only two choices are not torture, or club med. I guess it is ok with you that you would want to carry out the same activities as the terrorists. I expect more from this great nation. Your low expectations and standards are very telling.
If I remember correctly, this is also a kind of torture. Think about what will happen to your mind if you are put into the same situation 24/7 for a prolonged period of time.
The most successful interrogator the Germans had during WWII, Joachim Scharff, was very kind to his prisoners. He earned their trust and got better info than anyone else. If fact from the manual for US military interrogators it reads that direct questioning “works 90 to 95 percent of the time.” Yes it is better to let the experts deal with interrogation, that's why before Bush ordered the use of torture it was not used by the US since before WWII. It must get hard trying to defend a Bush in spite of the facts.
U.S. prisons use "solitary" all the time. The "torture" is that he or she has time to think about what he or she has done.
I can't believe you guys even argue with TJ. I know by now there is no way you actually think you'll change his mind.
I don't think that he believes all the crap he says. Some? Yeah. All? No. I think he just likes to stir the pot.
I don't think he believes most of what he is saying, or that I will change his mind on anyone. But he still throws out softballs, so it is still fun hitting them, and knocking his stuff out of the park. Most of the time I am just playing along with him, because there really isn't one left that supports the war to debate with. It is just for laughs.
The terrorist can make all the noise that he/she wants and pray as much or as little as he/she wants regardless of the day or night. However, nobody else has to listen or worry.
Believe it or not. Deprivation of outside interaction will drive people crazy if you do it long enough. You can give it a try yourself.
This post reads like a right winged nut job chickenhawk propaganda piece. Should we read this drivel or send it to delete status. What a joke. Why dont we leave stories of ACTUAL torture to those who can actually attest to it....i.e. NOT the lying, bullsh!t republican lawbreakers.
i came to my opinion based on the realities which i see on the ground and the way the criminals running this country and war have operated. be specific - what are you having problems understanding? do you need evidence to point out that the longer we are in iraq the more money haliburton makes? do you need evidence to point out that torture is not a reliable way to gather info? do you need evidence to point out that if you torture people they are going to get pissed off?
disbanding the army is pretty much regarded as the single biggest mistake of the invasion and one of the biggest factors leading up to all the chaos that we have today. but of course you know better than the military generals like zinni, who said its was the worst mistake of the war. if you want to go the incompentence route, more power to you. keep keeping your head in the sand.
