You have 2 all stars on the court and you can't win more than 1 game in 11?

Haywood has a horrible attitude and played maybe 20 mins per game when Etan was around.

Etan is a solid backup at his best.. he's not playing all that much lower than his best right now. It's been a year since his heart surgery...I'd just call him out of game shape if anything.

Dee Brown sucks. But that's on the Wiz for letting Mason go when they clearly needed him with Arenas out. They're idiots. And they have Juan Dixon, who was solid in his previous stint in Wash and while in Portland, but they can't find a way to make him productive as a starter so they have him off the bench while Daniels is out.

And nowhere did you address how Jordan's offense his entire career in Washington has been the Francis/Mobley iso-ball with 3 players instead of 2. THAT is a better reason for his firing.

Any chance they get rid of someone like Butler or Young? I was looking to see if they have any young PG's, but none. That's probably their problem, their # 1 player is gone plus he's their # 1 PG. Dang sucks for them.

I want to get my hands on some of their talent if possible. :D

I'd LOVEEEEEEEEEEE Caron Butler on this team. He would be the perfect fit here. I'd give up Battier/Landry or even Battier/Scola possibly. Also hypothetically speaking I'd take him over Artest as well.

Aww man, this guy was so nice, feel bad that he got fired.

After the Rockets-Wizards game last Friday in DC, I was waiting at the exit where the Wizards players drive out and as he was leaving he pulled down his window and shook my hand. I said good game to him, and he received it well. Didn't seem angry or anything even though I was wearing a red T-Mac jersey.

    Both are safe.

Sterling doesnt want to pay a fired coach.

Noone has high expectation on Reggie Theus.

yes, when you have a team with a bunch of guards and your best big man is atoine jamison, then yes you outperformed your talent. of course i'm not a big fan of agent zero so I might be biased

he was terrible vs the Rockets when they had the lead.

I think JVG was calling him out for leaving his starters (jamison, butler) out too long when the Rockets had their starters in the fourth for our big comeback.

Also, losing to the Knicks who only played 7 players is rock bottom.

I don't think many of you guys have watched a lot of Wizards basketball the last few years.

    Kaleidosky and Emjohn are right.

The internal politics are interesting though. Grunfeld brought in Tom Thibodeau last year was it, as the top assistant and really wanted him to replace Jordan. Jordan didn't appreciate it and Thibodeau moved on to the Celtics.

I don't think Jordan is terrible, but there is no way the Wizards had a chance at making any noise over the last 5 years. They were the opposite of Van Gundy's structured offense. I have no problem with fast breaking offenses, but the Wizards were just totally talent based offensively. Their defensive rotations were okay...not terrible, not great.

But yeah, I've watched them a lot, and they took an inordinate amount of bad shots as a team, but were competitive because they had talents who were able to create their own shots and make difficult shots (Arenas, Caron, Jamison, and even last year with Nick Young, Stevensen and Mason Jr.). J.R. Smith would have fit on that team so well.

Honestly, the 1-10 start did not surprise me at all. The firing was all about P.R. and timing here in the District....they wanted this to happen years ago imo.

    .................

I'm not saying Jordan is a terrible coach. It's just not a great fit for a team that needs to build a foundation for long term success. Jordan reminds me of Rudy T. Nobody ever thought Rudy T was the best X's and O's guy, but could motivate and manage the right team to championships. Jordan can succeed, but needs a different environment to do so.

It seems like a good firing.

Wiz just got their 2nd win of this season, 124-100 over GSW.

That win was all energy. They were quicker to the basket, to the boards and to all the loose balls. I wonder how long this will last. It's good to see a win again for the Wizards though.

Playing hard has a cap in the NBA though....it's the smarter teams that usually stay at the top. I hope Tapscott can create a smart foundation for the long run.

I still don't like the firing but I can't argue with the win.

Somehow i knew Eddie Jordan had been fired but i still thought this was an old thread about MJ.

    Was that an intentional joke?

Decent coach, also led the Eastern ALL STARS in Las Vegas but this is creepy, he does work with really bad team, I mean there are no good players aside from Antawn Jamison and Caron Butler who are currently playing.

Gilbert injured, Haywood prone and it's been a problem.

They let go Roger Mason, but they still have legit talent. Inconsistent, unmotivated, raw, not so smart, but talented players still remain on the Wizards.

    Butler
    Jamison
    Arenas (injured)
    Nick Young
    Stevenson (underachieving this year)
    Andre Blatche
    JaVale McGee
    Darius Songalia
    Brendon Haywood (injured)

    That team is garbage...

I wouldn't put too much stock in the Wiz's recent win over GS. Aren't there lots of statistics that show that teams usually perform better after a coaches firing for a short period before returning to normal?

Everyone has already forgotten that he lead that same crappy Wiz team to the playoffs without their best player for the entire season last year?

The Eastern Conference has been garbage the last 5 years. Even the Cleveland finals team had LeBron and junk. EJ wasn't a bad coach, but this Wizards team never learned how to play great team defense and great team offense. It's way too reliant on iso's and got by only because there was enough talent to score points on inefficient plays.

The Wizards beat GS b/c they played harder....now lets hope that lasts and lets also hope that they learn some legit offensive sets.
