A true fan always finds something optimistic even in defeat of the worst proportions. A bandwagoner immediately starts pointing fingers and expects the worst.

What the hell definition of bandwagoner are you using? Bandwagoners, when their team sucks, LEAVE TO FIND ANOTHER TEAM. Thus, the term "hopping off/on the bandwagon". Is this really that complicated?

Bad teams (ie, The Rockets) don't have bandwagon fans. The bandwagonners are already gone to some other team. As much as you may like to think or proclaim that you're somehow a "better" fan than anyone else, you're not. You're just a more optimistic one.

Actually, I would have to agree that yadnom and R95 are not bandwagoners. It just sucks to read their negative crap. But that's different.

See, this is what brings out the best in teams: adversity. If the Rockets were winning, there wouldn't be this much discontent among the "fans." Webster's dictionary defines 'fan' as "an ardent devotee." So if you consider criticizing a team at a time of adversity being devoted, then I won't consider you as anything other than a fan, whether it be a bandwagoner, or whatever.

    Horse Dung.

No thats only YOUR definition of being a fan. Being a fan means you cheer, jeer, sulk, or badmouth in your own way. Just cause someone doesnt choose to Homer in the same way someone else does doesnt make them a bandwagoner. The fact that someone gets that worked up over being a crappy team, shows that in fact he is a fan.

Just not your definition of one. So if I disagree with your assesment of finding the positive in every situation does that mean to me your not a "true" fan? Nope

Thank God we have Webster's to tell us all what a 'fan' is.

Go back and look at what Major said. The bandwagoners would pretty much have already folded up the tent and moved on. The team is sucking right now. Hard. We've got injuries on top of other problems.

Some people just handle it differently. I'm not one of those guys that says we're going to lose every night before a game. I prefer to hope we win. But let's face it: We just lost to the Bulls and Wizards. We aren't very good right now. And I find it hard to fault those guys who are really down about it.

Can we at least come to the conclusion that a fan wants their team to win?
