Yeah and that's a deal you make because:
    1. The new max deal is 4 years younger than the old max deal
    2. Your franchise star wanted the old max deal gone and the new max deal in

James Harden is the cause of the Rockets stats, he is the reason the Rockets are winning. It doesn't matter what you think statistically what matters is what Harden wants. The fact that Cp3 hasn't talked to James Harden since the trade means Harden def put pressure on Morey to trade Cp3 and get WB, I don't know how you keep trying to argue the Rockets should ignore what Harden wants. That's the "trade Rockets are looking for" lmao. It's not like WB is a massive downgrade from CP3, his stats this year aren't the stats he had when he was playing last year. You are looking at a statistical outlier brought on by the fact that Cp3 got slighted and thus worked his ass off in the summer. With Cp3 advancing in age and yet still making a max deal if I was Morey I would've pulled the trigger on this deal regardless how Harden felt about it. You choose the younger guy over the 34 soon to be 38 injury prone guy with the same max deal.

Because as @Nook has made is known to the board, harden's preference was never to have cp3 gone. he wanted to add to their core but things happened like butler ghosting houston all of a sudden and other obvious challenging avenues that limit the rockets ability to make moves. people need to stop making up false narratives just because

    LOL

Of course the team with the higher net rating during a game will win the game.

I was talking about the four factors, you know, what people use to determine who wins or loses the game? Of course the team with the higher net rating wins the game, you may as well say the team who scores the most points also wins the game too, congrats!

Let me ask you this... are the Mavs the 3rd best team in the NBA? According to this then, the Mavs are the 3rd best team in the NBA despite their record not saying so, but the maths says they Rockets will fall and the Mavs will rise to be the 2nd seed.

My bad, I wasn't really going after you, I was just using your post as a launching point to go into that rant lol.

    https://rocketswire.usatoday.com/20...hris-paul-forced-the-russell-westbrook-trade/

So I guess this Nook dude is a lot more informed than Cp3 right? He should find some way to hit Cp3 up and tell him Harden never wanted him gone cuz he hasn't talked to Harden since then.

Here is Harden talking and gushing about WB. His delight at WB going to Houston doesn't seem like a false narrative to me.

    https://www.express.co.uk/sport/oth...uston-Rockets-trade-Oklahoma-City-Thunder-NBA

    https://nesn.com/2019/07/nba-rumors-james-harden-driving-force-in-russell-westbrook-trade/

    https://clutchpoints.com/rockets-ne...russell-westbrook-without-trading-chris-paul/

I again don't know who this Nook dude is but I guess he has more inside info than all these articles and Daryl Morey himself claiming Harden pushed for the WB trade. Of course Morey also claimed Harden didnt' wnat CP3 gone but how is that possible Harden isn't a moron he would know getting WB means Cp3 is gone unless he wants to play center. I'm sure if Harden wanting Cp3 gone is a "false narrative" Harden would've reached out to Cp3 and told him his hands were tied or something to patch things out.

I didn’t come up with this point differential thing. People infinitely smarter than you or I put in the hours to actually study and research this stuff going back from the beginning of the sport.

Proof positive that point differential is a better indicator of a team’s quality than win loss record. Net rating is just a measure of point differential on a per 100 possession standard.

If you understand that the winner of a game will always have the higher net rating what is the disconnect from understanding that the better your net rating the better the quality of your team truly is giving you the better chance to win games and a title?

An 8-2 with a better net rating than a 10-0 with the worse net rating has historically proven to show the 8-2 to likely be the better team.

During the season many factors go into net rating. Schedule, injuries. Luka did miss a chunk of games right? Had he played they likely do still have a better record than us? What their differential tells us thus far is that they have played better than we have to this point. They are beating teams more soundly than we are. Doesn’t mean it’s an absolute 100% lock that they finish ahead of us. But it has proven since the beginning of basketball time to be an indicator that they have been better than us so far, despite having a worse record.

And so we all remember why this is all important. Westbrook is hurting our teams net rating. Which hurts our ability to win game going forward.

again, if you took the time to actually read what @Nook has posted you wouldn't be trying to play soap opera director making things seem like something theyre not. and if you actually did, it all lines with what austin rivers has publicly stated before the season started as well regarding the two. but hey, youtube vids and all tell everything.

you actually posted a vid of harden liking wb. breaking news alert. so what's he supposed to say, he doesn't? come on now

Again, I'll ask you this question since you dodged it and it goes to the heart of the argument here about net rating vs w-l record.

are the Mavs the 3rd best team in the NBA? According to this then, the Mavs are the 3rd best team in the NBA despite their record not saying so, but the maths says they Rockets will fall and the Mavs will rise to be the 2nd seed.

Because guess what...we have this EXACT situation playing out right now even with the 2 game difference.

The Mavs have the better net rating than the Rockets, the Rockets have the better record...so the math says the Mavs will finish above the Rockets, do you agree?

No, the math says that the Mavs are more likely to finish with a better record than the rockets, not that they are guaranteed to. Every situation is different, but statistically, if you got to bet on which team would finish with a better record, you would win more often betting on the Mavs.

I dodged nothing. I clearly said thus far they have outplayed us despite their record being worse.

If both teams don’t make trades, stay healthy and continue to play to the same levels they have thus far then yes. Mavs should finish with a better record than us at the end of the year.

Just like that despite Denver having the same record than us, we are clearly better. We are beating teams more soundly than they are.

The point is Cp3 would be talking to Harden if Harden didn't play a part in Cp3 leaving. How hard is that to understand? Facts speak louder than words if Harden didn't want Cp3 gone why aren't they talking? Can your anonymous source explain that?

I put all the youtube vids and articles cuz all these sources seem just as credible as some random poster you keep mentioning. Who the hell is this Nook person? Do you know? Why does his single post outweigh everything else on the internet as well as the fact Cp3 himself has beef with Harden and Daryl Morey himself said Harden pushed to get WB in Houston? One of the articles I linked has a quote from Morey himself saying Harden pushed for the WB trade. You think this Nook dude is a better insider than Daryl Morey? Gimme a break!

Yeah Harden is supposed to liked WB he brought him in. Breaking news alert indeed.

But isn't this the point? That you can't just point at numbers and ignore context and go "Well, the numbers say this, so that's how it is."

This is the entire point. KAT again, better advanced stats than Jokic, KAT is not better than Jokic.

You can't literally say "Westbrook is making the teams net rating worse." when the team is winning more games WITH Westbrook. If the team loses games, they lose their net rating, do they not?

If you remove Russ from the lineup, do the Rockets win more games or lose more games? What do you think? Because Jordann is saying that Russ makes the team WORSE.

why would cp3 need to be talking to harden? they're not on the same team anymore. they each have their own set of things to worry about not only on the court but in life itself.

bc his single post actualy explains everything in detail and goes along with many of the other credible outlets. it doesn't take one side or the other. it goes into exactl details. rather than random cf's making up silly little narratives like kids. lol at "beef"

if you don't know who he is then actually do some research. all the good posters know. that should tell you something

He'd talk to Harden cuz he just got traded, duh. Didn't Melo talk to both Cp3 and Harden when he got traded? So you're saying just because you aren't on the same team you won't talk anymore? I guess Cp3 and Lebron have never talked before then they haven't been on the same team ever.

Daryl Morey himself already said Harden pushed for the WB trade. Is nook better than Daryl Morey? Just stop man. I know in your head you've never been wrong in your life but just stop.

lol one of them is the godfather of their children. is harden the godfather of cp3's kids. what an example there

once again that's in @Nook post but that isn't all of it. you're focused on some silly bs and its obvious you didn't even read it

Well I don't want to put words in his mouth, so he can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that's what he's saying. Just because we have a negative net rating with Westbrook doesn't mean we would be better off without him. Think of it like this - let's say Harden goes to the bench and the rockets have a 10 point lead, and now Russ + 4 other guys get to play for some minutes. During that time the rockets lose by 5, and now Harden comes back in and we're only up by 5. In those minutes Russ went -5, that's bad, he's not winning those minutes. BUT, if we didn't have Westbrook, we would probably lose those minutes by even more. Like if Westbrook was injured and our non Harden minutes were run by Austin Rivers and Chris Clemons, maybe we lose those minutes by 8, or 10, or 12. So it's better for Harden to come back in with the rockets up 5 then it would be for the game to be tied, or the rockets losing.

So it's possible that he has a negative net rating, and we lose all his non-Harden minutes, but we're still better WITH Westbrook. It's just that you expect a lot more out of a player on a max contract. You'd like to be able to win those minutes.
