You are arguing a moot point. If Yao was quick with good balance so he could seal his man to catch the entry passes well, he would easily be a top three center in NBA history. He might be the most efficient player in the paint ever once the ball was in his hands. Imagine how dominant he would be if you could easily dump the ball into his hands. He would even be better than Shaq considering that you could actually go to him in the 4th qtr while the same cannot be said for Shaq who was a liability in the final period.
But you couldnt which is why he is an overrated offensive player. And he didnt do very well against the Jazz even when he did catch the ball.
It's hard to have a high assist ratio when the recipient of all your passes (the guy the defense always leaves WIDE open) is Rafer Alston.
