Watch what happens afterwards - it's clear Ainge didn't even realize he hit Elie until the rukus started.
Look at his right arm. It's not under the backboard. He could have thrown it as high as he wanted. It's completely within his character to do this intentionally. What's his hurry to score down by 16?
It is 100% intentional, no doubt about it. I could do that today, at least 9 out of 10 times..... The ball doesn't slip it goes right where it is directed.....a punk move by a punk player..... The Rockets were owning he Suns and they didn't like it......oh well.....SCOREBOARD ! DD
Do you remember all the s**t Phoenix was talking during that series? They deserved that dunk. Trying to injure a player, however, is a completely different story.
Yeah Olajuwon didn't need to lace up his shoes and play the game either. But he did, ohhhh did he ever! If dunking a basketball off a pass is classless, then I never want to have class.
Crazier things have happened. Who knows, maybe they would have come back if he didn't dunk it.
The question is? Do you remember this series? How tough they tried to be and physical throwing our guys around? This was not about class. This was about here is the exclamation after a hard battle. The capper to a series where things that Ainge did after this dunk happened the whole series was how the whole playoffs against Phoenix was like. These guys hated us and Hakeem made that series capper dunk to say here you go. We won byatches. It was a battle that series and against that team. Thats why Chuck was so hated for years even after he came here. This video in no way shows what that series was like. Hakeems play as always was the capper to it. Of course you had to have been there and watched it to understand it. If you werent? Dont even comment anymore on it.

Boston was up by 14. Add in the fact that Hakeem's dunk was on the Suns' home floor, and anyone watching from a neutral POV would have deemed it classless.
Was it classless for Barkley to say that the series wasn't going back to Houston after the Suns won the first two there? This is Hakeem saying it ain't over yet. This is a seven game war, not some Tuesday night in January.
