I'm the same way. Tired of taking up for this loser. He gets a chance, then does a stupid thing like this. SMH
I missed a lot of the game and can't judge how he did. But there have been enough threads about T-Will to cover almost all angles. From articles that have been referred to in other threads, it seems that a likely picture that has emerged is that in college his talent got him the position of a T-mac -- a point forward. And in that situation, with the group he played with, it worked. And by his own comments, he thinks he should keep doing what, as he says, "got me drafted." So he wants to play BB in the NBA more as a point-forward, rather than just doing whatever to serve whatever the roster and coach's philosophy might need from his skills. That might also transfer to the NBA if he's on a team without a good or legitimate PG. But the Rockets have 2 capable PGs. It might help to have a player on the court with the PGs who can also be a point-forward. But those circumstances may not come up enough. If he doesn't play well without the ball, it is mostly because he hasn't adapted in his mind to just giving the team what it needs given the current roster around him and the offensive system in place. I don't think it is so much stubbornness, as the inability to see the overall picture from a coaching standpoint. The old aphorism of, "if you aren't shooting well, find other ways to be effective on the court," is, maybe where he is lacking -- the recognition of what is most needed from him in any given situation. It means you won't always show up in the stats. the way you might want, but your team will have a better chance of winning, when all players think that way. I have felt the same way as Clutch and others, in that, for a long time I had hoped he would be given regular playing time. Jordan Hill began to make improvements with playing time. Something he didn't get in NY. Almost anyone with talent and a desire to improve does. I also agree with others that having a full training camp and preseason might have changed his opportunity for playing time earlier. For now, it's still TBD. I just hope he hasn't screwed up the good faith McHale showed to give him some PT. Unless he had a very good excuse for missing practice, McHale almost has to be consistent with the example of Dalembert and exact some kind of penalty. I would like to see him succeed, though.
