Was Obama's Mild Mannered Talk About Compromise Today Effective?

    Nothing is going to be done. Congress can't pass anything without the Senate; the President can veto anything he wants, overides would be near impossible. All the while The President can rail against a 'do nothing' Congress.

    Everything, everyone's perception, will be determined by how the economy recovers. As little as government actually has to do with it, that is the main determinate and the few things they can do are already set in motion.

    Either way Faux News will push the propaganda message, bad news is Obama, good news is a Republican Congress. If we do get some recovery though, Obama can claim it, and it can make a solid re-election platform. I think the empty bag of the Republican's generic campaign will be shown to be lacking to, even for the simple folk. (maybe not)

    I predict Boehner and the House putting a lot of populist agenda items in bills they want passed that they know the Democratic Senate will kill or Obama will veto.

    Edit: Example, expect a "gas tax holiday" to become an agenda item again in the summer. LOL
