how do any of us know? i've read a fair amount of commentary from former agents that cuts both ways. does anyone have a link to any official CIA statements in this regard? and in any case, i'm not sure NOC status is material to the statute. one can be undercover w/ out have non-official status.

There was an article in this very thread by a fellow CIA agent that mentioned it. Furthermore a couple of judges saw merit in the case to proceed, The CIA themselves believed that a crime had been committed and got the justice department involved. I would think that if she wasn't no judge would have agreed to proceed, the CIA wouldn't have brought in the justice department etc. I don't see why a colleague of hers would claim she was NOC when she wasn't really. Eitherway it is a matter of record, and it isn't a debate point.
Another collegue has claimed she wasn't, and to my knowledge the CIA has made no official announcement, so unless you can prove otherwise, it is not a matter of record and is open to debate.
Official status of all agents are a matter of record. We may not know the status of them all, but they are certainly a matter of record. The CIA has access to all of the records. After reviewing their own records they believed the matter was serious enough to call in the justice department and have them take legal action. Actually CIA officials have spoken on the matter. This even talks about the front company that was blown as result of this whole mess. As it mentions here it blew one of our sources for intel in SAUDI ARABIA, and the MIDDLE EAST(listening Giddy?). You are defending the outing the of an agent and this company which the CIA feels hampers their effort to conduct intel a part of the world that is a hotbed of terrorism.
not defending the "outing" of an agent, i'm questioning her status. you've provided nothing to support your claim of official NOC status. there is plenty of counterveiling evidence. until you can show some sort of official CIA pronouncement this will remain open for debate. the wikipedia link is laughable...
Oh well if you pronounce it laughable then it can't be of any value, despite being extensively backed up with facts, articles and loads of evidence all linked in the wikipedia article itself. In addition wikipedia by its very nature isn't partisan, and has a warning if the neutrality of the article is in question. But despite well documented claims by the CIA on her status you said it was laughable, so it must not be anygood. I'm glad that I have your undocumented word on the matter, instead of that annoying wikipedia and all their annoying documentation including official action and statements by the CIA.
