  1. Yes -- Should have been suspended longer

    15.9%
  2. Yes -- Should be forced to earn spot back in rotation

    27.9%
  3. No -- that would only make things worse. Time to move on..

Just an anecdotal observation: Brooks seems to be driving into traps more this year. Also, his D just seems lazier than usual. I know he gets bullied sometimes, but this season he doesn't even seem to be using his quickness.

Brooks has always had a history of this kind of behavior.

The point is that Brooks walking out on the team is not something that came out of nowhere. We've seen the signs for a while now. Take his relationship with Ariza last year (look how fast we shipped out Trevor). Or the whining about not getting extended. How about the sulking on the bench when not getting playing time. Even the little things like chucking the ball at Love are all indicators that this is who Brooks is.

I don't think he's a bad person or anything. It's this chip on his shoulder/sparky attitude that's propelled him to be a viable nba player despite his stature.

The ROX as an organization have a zero tolerance for this kind of behavior though, and I am certain that he will get shipped out the first .75cents to the dollar deal they can get.

Send Brooks to Americas Siberia to make an example of what quitters get... Trade for love or Rubio... Unload bud too for being a slouch.

I think that may be because his quickness is still not fully back to normal after the injury. Maybe it is still painful, which makes him subconsciously avoid going at full speed all the time. I'm not saying these are good things, but I doubt his poor play is due to some intentional choice, especially since he is in a contract year.

Rockets landed at 3 a.m. this morning. Generally add an hour 2 to get home and nod off. Should be sleepy bunch. Aaron Brooks to the rescue?

does anyone think brooks will play tonight???

I think a game or two suspension is enough. The real punishment will be making him earn his spot back in the rotation. He's young and made a stupid mistake, but I'm sure he realizes it and wants to do right. I'm not against trading Brooks, but I don't want to give him away while his value is low. If he carries a grudge, then we look to ship him out asap.

I think Terrence Williams should play before Brooks does. You cannot have a player act this way. Send him a clear message.

Any ordinary citizen would be fired if they walked out of work early with no excuse.

I agree. I also agree with Juan. They really cant get anything for him riight now. Others around the league may see him as a disgruntle player and offer very little. some will go back and think about the player last year and try to get him on the cheap. Best case for the rockets is for him to play well enough to garner more interest around the league. The kings arent going to give up anything because they know they can get him in the offseason.

If that was the case, the organization would be punishing itself by making such a stupid trade

That "zero tolerance" better lead us to victories. If you check NBA history, teams full Shane Battier's won't win many championships

Personally, one of the main reasons I am a fan of the Rox is because it's a group of guys that I am proud of supporting. Ever since the Yao era, the Rox have been known to be a team of gritty, leave-it-all-out on the court, and good character guys.
Even when we didn't make the playoffs, I was proud of the team because they played together and played the right way.

Teams full of Shane Battiers have won championships. Look at the Spurs. They've won multiple championships with players and coaches that have Shane's mentality. You're mistaking Battier's bball skills with his character.

We all want to win. But I think that the Rox believe that they win by playing the right way.

No, it is stupid to suspend him longer. All it does is screw the team. If anything you should fine him.

Seriously too much loyalty for Brooks.

The rockets defense is so so so much better when he isn't in the lineup.

He's human. People get in bad moods and they act out of character. Simple as that. Move on.

Punishment should not be varied with how well your D is.
