Sorry. I just enjoy great team basketball man. And we have no reason to not like them other than when we play them. After all, they're our neighbor. And they're genuinely likable. Duncan may be next to Bill Russell in being one of the classiest, humblest superstars of all time. And now here comes Kawhi, another one of the hardest working, most humble, softest spoken team superstars that's ever played the game.

And they are a model organization that has thrived for years and years, even as their original stars have faded and/or retired. They've drafted well. They've traded well. They've got great coaching and a great system. And they mesh together on-court into a true 5-man team, playing a style of basketball that is just so much fun to watch.

I don't understand how any true fan, student, and lover of the game could not love watching the Spurs play. I don't understand why anybody from Houston wouldn't want them to win if we couldn't win. It says great things for the WC and for Texas. And it says great things about true teamwork and great basketball play being 5 guys instead of 1 or 2 guys trying to do everything out there.

Nice words for the Spurs but it is not like that all the time with fans. Would a UT Longhorn fan root for the Aggies to Win a National Title/BCS Title? Not many would. Same with some fans like me, I would not root for the Spurs or Mavs to Win Chip.

Cavs lost to both on the road but they were very close games. That loss against the Spurs was Kyrie's first week back. I'm interested to see the Warriors and Spurs play in Cleveland.

It's strange that Golden State and San Antonio despite being in the same conference have not played each other yet. It's not unrealistic to think the Warriors could win 72 games in the regular season and lose to the Spurs in the playoffs. They are both playing crazy good team ball.

Fixed, at least I think so?

I'm going for the Cavs. Cleveland as a sports town reminds me of Houston. I think that town is overdue for a champion.

Tired of seeing the Spurs win and I despise the Warriors.

There is an outside shot at OKC sneaking into that top tier, I think it's a low chance but they are the only other team I think that could beat the Warriors or Spurs in 7 games. Just because they have no one to guard Westbrook or Durant...

I am not so sure about that. Any of those second tier East teams (Raptors, Bulls, Heat, even Pacers) could give the Cavs a hard fought series.

Also, I think people are underestimating the Thunder. They are battle tested too. GS and SA would much rather face the Chokers... uh ... Clippers than OKC.

    I would.

They still have arguably the best player in the game (Curry is only the better shooter) and two bonafide all stars, and tihe rest of the roster are quite solid. Need to integrate those stars into the plays better, but that the regular season is for. If they are healthy in the post season, they have as good of a chance to bring home the trophy as anybody in this league.

Well, the Mavs championship was quite a surprise, so was 2006 Heat.

Refs excuse is only for p*****s & assholez. But even if they do get away with it, as long they're not called, it is just a part of the game. I don't think anybody will take anything away from the Celtics 2008 championship achievement out of their outrageous physical defense & screen.

This kinda of excuse is the same for any other fans from other teams complaining about Harden excessive FT gift in games, it is what it is and part of the game.

I don't know about the Dubs, but most Spurs fans are more intimidated with the Clippers than the Thunder right now, fact that the Clippers PnR & mid range PnP game is so damn deadly, rendering the Spurs strong iso and rim defenders mostly useless.

On the Thunder, with Kawhi's ascension, they have the best defender & player to make Durant works very hard on both ends of the floor. Westbrook will be contained by Green & the Spurs held defense at the rim. Parker will be strategically hidden defensively on Roberson & Waiters.

The only concern is Thunder bench bigs feasting over the Spurs undersized bench bigs, but in the playoff TD & LMA minutes will increase making this issue rather less dangerous, and Marjanovic emergence will give them another option to throw at this problem.

As were the Warriors last year. No one had the Warriors as the best team going into last season. At the very best, they were behind some combo of the Cavs, Spurs, OKC, and Clippers.

Going into the Celtics' championship year, most people though it was silly to dump a bunch of aging vets together in the hopes of a championship.

Yep, I guess you are right. Especially the trio Ibaka, Westbrook and Durant are playoff tested.

I don't think Cavs can beat Warriors/Spurs in a seven games series.

The Cavs need Lebron to be highly motivated and totally dominance self to have a chance against Warriors/Spurs and of cause a healthy full team.

So far Lebron has playing, like, half-hearted and take a back seat type of attitude and with this attitude Cavs will even have problems beating Rockets let alone the Warriors and Spurs.

Spurs will be my team once the Rockets get knocked off in the playoffs. I want to watch them destroy the Warriors.

I will be supporting the Spurs out of those three hands down. They play amazing team basketball taking smart good shots with superb historical defence and their typical ball movement and are always humble and it would be the best farewell for Duncan and Manu.

TBH I would have chosen in the first place to be a Spurs fan for my West team, because I love watching them, but I have found out that most Spurs fans are bat **** crazy. The most immature and arrogant and rude online basketball fans.

The Warriors were a surprise relative to preseason expectations. But by this point in the season, it was obvious they were legitimate contenders if not the favorites.

The 2011 Mavs situation was completely different. They won two series in which they were big underdogs going in.

As for the Celtics in 2008, I can't really remember what the expectations were at the time, but here is what Marc Stein said about the team in his training camp power rankings, before the group had even played a game together:
So it sounds like the expectation was that they should at least be in the Finals.

I think youre talking about Spurstalk. It is a pity... that site is run by a juvenile kid who trolls his own forums and makes multiple accounts for himself to make absurd topics. Day and night with Clutch. Give someone too much power and you just dont know how they will run with it.

I am already sick of the Warriors and Cavs.
I hope the Spurs win 6 and Timmy can retire on top.

Have to say it was so sweet to listen to the Warriors get spanked, at full strength, on the local Bay Area radio last night. The announcers were just so depressed and the Pistons kept piling it on. Loved it.
