I honestly don't know what you are referencing. Do you think I don't like Yao? I do. A lot. I've said so here countless times. I'm discussing a report that Golden State has interest in him. I haven't said anything derogatory about the big fella. What on earth are you babbling about? We should give him a contract extension when we don't know what his health is going to be going forward? Should we give him a max contract out of "loyalty," when the man hasn't been able to play for two seasons? Are you angry that I said he "owes us" a much smaller contract after the Rockets paid him tens of millions of dollars for years when he couldn't play and have no idea if he'll play again? Are you angry that I care more about the Rockets than I care about Yao, although I do care about him? What's up, Sherlock?
Like my post at the bottom of page 1, where it might be in GSW's best interests to obtain his bird rights before he becomes a FA
They have to say that they want Yao the player but they really want Yao the contract. Wouldnt be surprised if they tried to put a package together to send David Lee to the Rockets for Yao and other pieces. The recognized he might not be worth the huge contract they gave him. The major question here is, what would the Rockets want from the Warriors? My guess is that they would be most interested in draft picks and of course Curry/or Ellis.
Read my post again. Did I mention anywhere in my post that you don't like Yao? No. Did I show "angry" in my post? No. My post is about I don't think "Yao owes Rockets" like you said in your post. Do you think which one is greater? The amount they paid Yao or the revenue the collected because of Yao? I don't mind Yao stay as a Rocekt for a smaller contract, but that is not because "Yao owes Rockets" , it's because he is no longer worth a huge contract at this moment. Your reasoning is what I don't agree with. Not what you hope for.
We don't owe Yao ****. He can blame his country for all those meaningless tournaments that added excess miles to his legs.
It would have been nice had you posted this to begin with. I think he does owe us special consideration for the nightmare he's given us the couple of years. No, he didn't go out to injure himself. Yes, he worked his arse off to get back into playing shape. Financially, he's been paid extremely well while averaging 48 games a season for the last five years, with five games played over the course of this season and last. He's been a boon to Les, but not the financial juggernaut many make him out to be, in my opinion. Were he playing, we wouldn't be having this conversation. In my opinion, Yao thinks he owes the Rockets more than you think he owes the Rockets. We simply disagree.
How do you know what Yao thinks? Are you Ms Cleo? Yao had been paid well, but still only one rookie contract and one Max contract which is about 10-12mil average per year, much less if you considered 80% of his recent salaries are covered by insurance company. That should be way less than what Rockets got from him. If you can't see that, I don't know what to say.
I don't think he owes us anything. He has given his all. The constant injuries have ended his career as an all-star.
Give us Monta Ellis and You can Have Yao and Lee! Warriors probably need to add trash to make salaries match.
They don't care about his Bird rights......there isn't one team out there that needs his Bird rights to sign him, because no one will give him that large of a contract. The most he can hope to get is the mle, if that still exists at the time, but most teams will try for between the league minimum and the mle price range.
I'd trade Yao Ming for a sack or marbles and a couple of chewing gum sticks at this point. He's worthless now and anyone who takes him on will soon find out. Not to mention the guy is softer than a pillow.
