Touchbacks are beautiful when your ST tackling is suspect.

 

There's no doubt he has the biggest leg in history. The records prove that. Throw in the fact that he's only gotten better at pinning teams deep in their territory, and he's only been blocked once... Nobody's wrong all the time.

 

This kid is extraordinary. He can flip the field to your advantage. thank the gods, he is punting for us.

 

I agree that Lechler is one of the greatest punters playing today but Sapp is clearly just making a "headlines" statement. Lechler's average Yards/Punt is within 1yd of 3 other players, 2 of whom are active. You could argue that his Yards/Punt average is inflated from playing for so many Raiders teams that had weak offenses. I don't know who would be qualified to rank the greatest Punter of all time, but it's not me and it's definitely not Sapp. He's just doing his former teammate a solid.
