Warning on U.S. Income Inequality

    but I thought the rich didn't pay taxes..isn't that what most people say?

    but really, if you close the loopholes and write-offs, the rich (who average a very low % after deductions) would end up paying a higher % overall, because they don't really pay close to the % they're supposed to pay right now. So in theory even if you lower the tax rate for the rich, they end up paying more. If you make it a 20% flat rate, the people in the 25% bracket pay less, and the rich (many of whom pay in the low teens due to all the deductions) would actually pay more.

    The key is you HAVE to close loopholes and eliminate all the deductions. It simplifies the tax code & you can shrink the size of the IRS.
