In defense of this guy for Western names and words that have no Chinese equivalent Chinese will often use characters that sound like that.
oh I agree, the problem is that it seemed like random charcters were matched up to each letter of the alphabet and then the artist was told you could spell out someones name with those characters.
If you don't want tattoos, that is your right. I have no regrets. You should only bother yourself on what applies to you and since you have no tattoos, judging those that do, makes you seem a bit self-righteous and judgmental. A thread is posted on what could be threatening to a tattoo artist and people attack the ones that get tattoos.
Well, I was specifically criticizing (and being self-righteous & judgmental of) the Mr. Cool Ice guy that macalu posted and not talking about tattoos in general.
I once worked with a very talented tattoo artist named Dan Martin. I used to be all snooty about all tattoos, but he explained to me many good reasons that people have gotten tattoos. I asked him, once, what the worst part of being a tattoo artist was. He said that he really hated giving people trendy tattoos (like a Taz). He hated to do that, but he had to, with a smile, because that was his job. He had a very deep respect for people who took their tattoos very seriously, gave a lot of thought and consideration to it, and had good reasons for getting their tattoo. And, I tell ya, Dan was damn good at his work. Check it out.
But all these things can be forgiven if you top the look off with a brightly-colored polo shirt that you tuck in the front, but not in the back.
