Obviously, I know nothing about this guy, but from limited video, he looks like he has potential. I have tempered excitement. Would like to see him in the G League. Ironic thing is the more I learn about him, the more he reminds me of Rivers, with maybe more hops, and a touch more size. Stone has done a great job.
Looks like he has decent handles both left and right. Won't be getting that kind of penetration on NBA players but maybe can develop into a solid bench guy.
https://nypost.com/2020/02/10/knicks-new-prospect-issuf-sanon-probably-wont-play-here/ However, the bottom line about the 20-year-old Sanon is he’ll likely never play for the Knicks, according to sources. Not that he won’t be a trade pawn at a later date. The Knicks won’t rule him out for Las Vegas summer league in July. Washington needed to give the Knicks a piece in the three-team deal to make the trade official. “He’s a crafty young player who was mostly a throw-in,” one NBA scout familiar with the situation. “Time will tell if he even makes it to their summer league.’’ “If he was a real NBA prospect, he’d be playing in Spain, Italy, France or Turkey,’’ said Shea, an NBA consultant on European players. “He wouldn’t still be in Ukraine.’’
Does Memphis play in a top notch league??? Two of their guys basically went in the lottery this year.
