Word one could not describe T-will ever since he became a ROCKET... something special will come out of this guy.
I do agree that we should give him chances as the season goes, but I don't understand all the hype on every new Rocket player... Williams right now has more to prove than anybody else in the team. He averaged 8 points in 24 minutes last year with the 12-win team Nets. For all the people who are crying for him to play, please don't get too excited for nothing. There's even a thread after the Denver game, with ppl blaming Adelman cuz TWill didn't play. Seriously, he's new on the team, he hasn't proved anything yet, give it time please.

Williams has reached a critical crossroads in his career. He has all the physical basketball talent you'd ever need to be a successful player in the NBA for a decade or more, but he has to get the mental and emotional aspects up to snuff or his career arc could turn out more like a Stromile Swift than a Gerald Wallace.
If the Rockets view him as a player and not an asset, then I think this can be the environment he needs to get on the right track. I agree this is an important time in his career.
My mane DD is master of oxymorons....says why we're wrong then backs it up with the exact reasons we felt we were right in the 1st place....But thats my dude.....I say blow it up maybe not as far as tanking...We need to trade Brooks and Martin because they are tailor-made for a Yao-led offense...since theres no Yao, no need for their azzez...I'm thinkin for Conley/Mayo/Thabeet....yeah they underperforming but at least they're talented and young....Then Scola needs to go for a true PF...I mean some long athletic sumabytch ala Jason thompson/Landry.....Maybe keep Battier so he can rot with the team this year.....Yao's contract can bring us a big and maybe some good talented role players...ala Prince or Caron Butler...then pray for a miracle through the draft....or some FA signing with us...(not Carmelo)
I'm okay with playing TWill, but not if it is to the detriment of the team. There is no doubt that the kid has talent, but I think it is a little absurd to think him an all-star until he shows something substantial. It is not out of the question to think that we still have a chance at the 8th seed at this point in the season. Until that becomes a longshot, I expect to see the lineup which gives us the best chance to win. With the trade deadline looming, I'm hoping he is a part of our big picture.
DD, please promise now that when Terrance has a great game you won't pronounce him the real deal and consequently harm his career(Wafer,Budinger,Hill).
In limited minutes, what jumped out at me the most is his athletic ability and court vision. The passes he made during his 2ish minutes against Denver should have been 3-4 assists had the recipient actually converted layup/dunks. The steal he had against Portland displayed anticipation and quickness. What I also observed during the Portland game was that he was that he was not running the offense. There were a couple of options available the he missed while trying to create his own shot. I also observed that he didn't run back on D like the rest of the team. His on ball defense is good, but his team defense still needs improvement. I attribute that to being new to his teamates and scheme. I believe he got time due in part to what he showed in practice, and also in part to AB being out. Once he relaxes a bit and understands where he needs to be within the offense/defense, the he will be a force.
Trade Battier for Haywood. Dallas probably won't do it but the do want to win now and Battier helps with the loss of Butler. And for us it gives us a legitimate backup center and opens the door for more playing time for Bud and T-Will. Simple trade that works on so many levels for both teams. And helps us in the long run. I also would trade either Scola or Brooks for draft picks or youth if available. The problem trading Scola is the only teams interested would contenders because Scola will help them win. Miami has Bosh; the Celtics have Garnett; the Lakers have Gasol; Dallas has Nowitzki; the Spurs have Duncan; the Bulls have Boozer; the Knicks have Amare but he can play center and Scola could slide over and they could give us Randolph but to make the deal work cap wise is almost near impossible; Maybe OKC would be interested but not to sure about that one. The nets were interested before but Scola really does them no good now. So we can switch to trying to move Brooks. He can get us Landry... forget it my brain hurts. Morey figure it out. We are not going anywhere. Brooks isn't a good fit anymore. Ish and Lee can back up. Scola helps us win to much to get a good lottery team. Battier is not part of a rebuilding team. Move some of these guys and start playing the young guys for experience.
Dallas will make a championship contender having Shane, which is not good but having Haywood will also make us a lot better now and future. Do we want Dallas to be better?
NO!!.. Haywood's contract is hideous! I prefer trading Battier for they're young big, Alexis Ajinca, his 7'1 with a massive "7'9" wingspan - His very raw but posses a lot of upside-
They are going to play T-Will the same amount of minutes either way. They will make him earn them. Whether or not we give up on the season depends a lot on what trades Wizard Morey makes between now and the deadline. If he brings in Steve Nash and a center, we'll be going for all the marbles. If he can't pull off anything that helps us this season, then they will consider this season as another building year.
