How much does he get when they split up the playoff money or champion share?

The reports were that the Knicks were shopping him, but the follow was that it would be with KVH for a more marquee player like Wallace, something to that effect....

imo, a good backup point guard who can make good decisions is a difference maker.

You're right, of course. Ward's going to take less money from SA.

I was just messing around. And your arithmetic was impeccable! :p

Charlie Ward's value is he won't lose the game for you. That's all. He doesn't break down defenses, he doesn't shoot threes, he's just a caretaker. Not saying we couldn't use him, but he doesn't make this team a contender.

Listen, Charlie Ward is a difference maker, imo. He makes enough of an impact on both ends of the court to make a difference, especially when the games are close.

I'm still holding out hope that Charlie Ward chooses Houston. Nobody has confirmed Charlie Ward has made a decision to sign with the Spurs. Its not on the AP wire and the San Antonio paper at 12:00 am said he was leaning toward San Antonio but he was still undecided. I think Fegan and others just ran with what Craig Segar said last nigt on TNT.

NEW: Ward signs with Spurs, heads to San Antonio

    By Johnny Ludden
    Express-News Staff Writer

    Web Posted : 01/09/2004 1:10 PM

Former New York Knicks point guard Charlie Ward signed with the Spurs today.

Ward, who was traded to — and quickly waived by — the Phoenix Suns earlier this week, was on his way to San Antonio this afternoon. He turned down offers from New Jersey and Houston to sign with the Spurs. Terms were undisclosed.

“He just wanted a chance to win,” said Craig McKenzie, Ward’s agent. “This is not about the money.

“San Antonio did a really good job of showing Charlie they wanted him.”

This is a classic example of a person who just shoots an idea DOWN without all the facts. Newsflash: Charlie Ward is ranked in the TOP TEN IN THE NBA IN THREES!

c'moooooooooon now..let's get our facts straight.

Why? Because he decided to go to a better team? With SA, he has a shot at a ring. With Houston, he MAYBE has a shot at the playoffs - MAYBE! I mean sheesh! The guy just got away from the Knicks - he's tired of losing. This choice was a nobrainer.

I think we would be giving up too much. (never thought I'd say that about those two!) And we can't trade a first round pick, since we sent ours to Utah for ManBoobs. Can we send someone a future 1st rounder this season in a trade? I thought there was a limit on these transactions per season... is that true?
