Wow... it really does take a lot to make everybody in here happy. I guess, since there were some that criticized even the T-mac deal, that nothing will every unify the bbs ever again.

That being said, a lot of the negative comments about Sura remind me of the negatives said about JJ last year... "he's been on too many teams, never been that consistent of a shooter, is known as a me-first personality... etc."

Frankly, this deal reminds me a lot of the JJ one... a guy who's been around the block enough to know exactly what he needs to bring to a team, and one that can adapt to any role given him.

Plus, he's one of those "rocket killers" (like Pike was), and if we don't have to face him... we're better off for it.

What's wrong with Sura? Do yall still remember that game triple OT against Hawks. We need players like Sura to break a little.

    Rockets LIFT OFF!!!!!

I love to have Sura on this team and Ward as back up guards. Sura can be a 1 or 2 guards and great defender with strong legs.

    CD you are the man!!:)

Excellent additions, that gives this team the depth that it was lacking from last season. This team looks totally different from the one we started last season with. One of the guards will probably be traded or waived.

Depth, depth, depth. This is a smart move (hopefully we got them cheap).

Yeah. I would be willing to bet $100 that either Lue or Gaines, or both, will be traded(maybe along with the TE) before the season starts.

I'll wait for my assessments until after all the moves are done this summer ... I'm sure these are in preparation for something else. Hopefully.

I for one don't think Lue will be traded. JVG has said in the past that he likes having three point guards on the team, hence why Wilks stuck around all year last season while guys like Torraye Braggs didn't make it.

i am FOR this trade (as opposed to against like about the other half of you), but I'm thinking if we get these two we would be better off keepiing EricP. Eric Piatkowski had an off season last year, but he's a proven sharpshooter. Neither of these guards we signed are sharpshooters, and neither are any of our other guards except JJ. I would rather move Lue for Mutombo now, and develop reece gaines and wilks.

dude - the Bulls have 4 PGs !!!!! why would they want Lue - they need a SG (preferably a tall one) - just because YOU want to trade a player doesn't mean that the other team wants to get that player

    That's a good comparison.

And for those worried about Sura's 3-point shooting this past season, lets remember that Derek Fisher shot 29% from 3-point land this past season. Antonio Daniels has had 3 seasons where his 3-point percentage has been sub 30%. Even Jim Jackson has had several seasons where his 3-point percentage has been in the 20's.

I'm not too worried about Sura's shooting. The guy has proven in the past he can shoot. He's had seasons where he's shot 37% or 35% from behind the arc and several seasons where he has shot 33% or 32%, which is respectable. Who's to say he can't go back to being a 37% 3-point shooter playing on this team?

Terrific! Now they have FIVE backup PGs. This is gonna be ugly to watch especially if Ward is running the point. I have started to lower my expectations for the upcoming season.

    Didn't see this posted yet:

Sura's numbers last year after joing Hawks:

27 games, 35.4 min., .420 FG%, .279 3 pt%, 8.3 rbs/game  that is insane for a guard (better than Francis or Kidd) (although it is probably an aberration because his career reb avg. is 3.2) 5.3 assists, .93 steals, 2.44 turnovers, 14.7 points. http://www.nba.com/playerfile/bob_sura/index.html?nav=page

Well with the addition of these 2 players that already gives us 13 players under contract for next year and that is not including Padgett, Wilks, or Mark Jackson. Our roster is getting a little big. Perhaps a multi-player deal is in the works for a backup center.

I really dont understand how some of you are complaining about the signings. What were you guys expecting, a Pike for Bibby trade??

We got 2 solid players and you really cant ask for more than that. We dont need a superstar, we've already got 2 of them. We need role players that can do the job...Ward and Sura fit the bill.

Be happy, better than not signing anyone and going into camp with Lue, Wilks, and Gaines as the PGs.
