Some of you guys are never satisfied with nothing.. Just be happy that we did get a point guard... Not one of the best but at least we can compete.. Thats all what really counts! If these guys can't compete bring in someone else, or force a trade..

Signing two more PGs makes me believe more than ever that there something already in the works in terms of a trade. Now it seems that it will be Lue and/or Gaines (along with another player or two) who are involved and the Rockets are waiting for the 60 day waiting period to expire.

I can't say I'm excited over this. Usually when i see our free agent signings I get excited about having a new player on the team. I know we were desperate and there probably wasn't much more we could do unless we overpaid in a trade (this is assuming we made offers for AD and were denied). I did want Sura at one time because of his height, but what I wanted more was a PG with a high assist/turnover ratio and neither of these guys have that. Now looking at Sura's stats I see he isn't much of a 3 point shooter either, which was my #2 want in our PG. It looks like Ward can shoot the 3, but isn't he injury prone? The only reason I see in signing both of them is for a trade because I see no reason in having 4 PG's on the team (even though some can play the 2). I'm happy to see us getting someone tall in Sura, but am also displeased in us getting Ward for what seems to be no reason right now, but hopefully that will change soon. It's too bad we couldn't get 1 decent PG instead of 2 scrubs.

Sura is actually a pretty good pick up--

Remember he almost became the first player since Grant Hill to have 3 triple doubles in a row earlier this year...

( they disqualified the third one since he missed on purpose to get the 10th rebound)

Sura will be really good for this team. He plays defense, averaged 8+ rebound for the time he was on the hawks last season, isn't too ball dominating, and is a good 3pt shooter.... A great fit for this team

    brooksstephens,
I'm not saying he doesn't have flashes of brilliance, just that he's streaky.Sure Sura can crossover and penetrate the lane, but his decision making makes this ability work against us.Toss in the lack of D and shooting...ouch.
I hope there is a deal in place.

No, there is definitely more to it than what you said. Have you ever thought about cap room? Ever heard of Matt Maloney, Moochie Norris, or Maurice Taylor? If these guys can't compete then we can't just "bring in someone else" without dishing out more money and probably making us pay Luxury Tax, and forcing a trade isn't easy with "players that can't compete" unless your willing to take on a big/long contract in the process (see Moochie Norris). The only difference with these guys is HOPEFULLY they signed decent size and length contracts. We all knew we would get a point guard, but I think most people wanted 1 DECENT one over 2 scrubs. 4 PG's? I hope there's a trade going down soon.

I don't know where your getting this lack of D from. Sura is considered by most a good defender. Defensive tenacity is on of his biggest strengths.

Sura is not a good 3-pt shooter, but he is a good defender. I'm pretty sure we will use him at the 2.

I think this is a good (not great) but good signing (if sign to min contracts or pretty close.) Both are serviceable. I would have prefered Daniels, but the signing of the 2 PGs meant talks with Seattle probaly died. If we can get Mutombo or a decent backup center, and maybe sign a atheltic young SF like Demarr Johnson for cheap.

    Yao
    Howard
    JJ
    TMAC
Sura (not Ward bc of age but I would not be surprise if he did start)

Any word concerning size and length of contract? When is the press conference?

why do we need to two of them. Lue will be gone? Sura and Lue are pretty similar.

very good move man i wanted charlie ward last year, but now we got 3 pgs, i think we should move 1 of them with pike to get a meke, n then i think we'll be set, a sf could help, but i guess tracy could play sf for some time, if we stop here for the off season i still say that we are in a very good position, GREAT SIGN ROCKETS!!
