how can he be any worse than Pike or Griffin (he's not even getting Pike money)

worse case senerio Sura and Lue get the minutes and Ward helps them learn the system

I'm sorry basso, but are you trying to be funny? I've gotta be honest with you, that it was offensive to me, and I'm very sure it is to Ming too if he ever read this.

Ward's stats took a nosedive after he was traded to the Spurs in the midseason. His production with the Knicks in the first half of the season was pretty good. 9 points,44% shooting, 42% 3 point shooting, and 5 assists in 24 minutes are solid. I don't know what happen with him on the Spurs, it could be the coach, the West factor or just an abberation...

Yes, he's exactly like him. They are both pro basketball players who play guard in the NBA -- the parallels are eerie!

Ugh, Ward to a 3-year, Sura to a 4-year contract?!?!?!?!

    WTF is CD thinking?

Ward will be 37 and Sura will be 35 when their contracts finally expire...

calm down. it was just a joke about jvg's preference for ex-knicks.

    Gotta like this optimism.

Ward said he knows his former coach's expectations.

"He likes the toughness, the competitiveness," Ward said. "This team can definitely win a championship. It is just a matter of everyone coming together."

So the Rockets have decided to use a bunch of bench players to fill their back court. Pathetic:mad:

If we sign Mark Jackson and Oakley again during the season, we could have all five former Knicks on the court. With JVG & Ewing on the sideline, you can officially call it the Houston Knicks!

What did you expect when we hired JVG? All coaches prefer "their guys". Look at what the tuna has done in dallas, look at who Jackson brought to the lakers from his Bulls squad. Loyalty works so I say why fight it.

dude - compared to the other contracts going around the league - these guys are getting table scraps (Pike and A Griffin money)

its not like we gave them 7 years at 24 million a la Matt Maloney

Yeah, Sura plays a lot of point guard.

In fact, with Atlanta last year, he played point guard a whopping 9% of the time, the other 91% he was at the shooting guard.

In Detroit, in very limited minutes, he did it an amazing 12% of the time, the other 88% he played at the 2 or 3 spot.

    Proof (Det): http://www.82games.com/03DET5D.HTM

By contrast, Francis played roughly 9% of his minutes at shooting guard last year, and the other 91% at point.

I'm sorry that I don't live in your fantasy universe, ruled over by a 7'6" deity where certain types of individuals are consigned to the lowest circles of hell -- while reality sucks at times, its generally where I tend to hang out.

Oh - you know I forgot -- they both went to ACC schools, there's another similarity! Separated at birth?

Edit: one last thing, I apologize in advance for this, but can't stop myself from doing it.
