The point is that ALL of this could have been avoided. If the nation had been presented with a realistic assessment of how much this war would cost, we might not have supported it. If we had been presented with accurate intelligence, we might not have supported it. The Bush admin decided that distorting the facts was perfectly fine if it made the case for war and now we are paying the price. Now, the admin is going to put off supplemental funding for our troops until after the election in order to try to save some political capital. Great way to "support the troops," Mr. Bush.
Well it has to better than telling enemies to "bring it on". The armchair war-hawks piss me off. I don't undersatnd how former military people can stand it. Ahh - now I see: The Bush-Chenye Junta is using the cloak of compliance!
