An interesting development in light of Obama's well-publicized comments.

Looks like Obama's strategy works. Glad to hear that we took action against Al-Qaeda's leadership, and weren't scared like so many who seem to quake in their boots at Obama's ideas.

Funny. I wonder if this will come up in the next debate.

Hillary - do you think the strikes that killed Al Queda leaders were wrong, or do you think Obama - who you have aggressively criticized on this issue - was right?

This is a welcomed approach -- quite a change from Obama's telegraphing his intentions to the press. It must sting the liberals when the Bush Administration handles things much better than the naive Obama. wow. Barry Dunham is just in over his head.

So now you're OK with "invading Pakistan" as you call it - as long as we don't tell anyone? No one (except bigtexxx) believes anything you say anymore. Your problem with Obama was not the telegraphing, but "invading". It appears the Obama foreign policy is being adopted by the Bush admin, who has given up on their own strategy:

Having requested the Pakistani government's official permission for such strikes on previous occasions, only to be put off or turned down, this time the U.S. spy agency did not seek approval.

As we can see from this quote, if they had adopted it long ago, many more terrorist leaders would likely be dead now.

    1) It's not the junior senator from Illinois' copyrighted idea to go after Al Qaeda. You seriously view him through rose-colored glasses.
    2) Hussein Ubama's approach of declaring in advance that we're going to go after Al Qaeda in Pakistan is exactly the wrong approach. It shows his lack of experience in foreign relations. He's not fit to lead.

Kudos to our proud military and the President Bush for making this happen, by the way

Given that it seems Pakistan is aware we're doing this - just not being necessarily being apprised of individual attacks - what's the harm of Obama's broad statement of policy, which would presumably be implemented in a similar way?

It rubs it in their face, pisses off the population of Pakistan and gets their leaders in trouble, which could lead to no access in the future. Bush's approach is far superior to Hussein Ubama's.

texxx, this thread has no potential for you, other than embarrassment - better retreat to the safety of one of jorge's "Obama is a darky" threads....

Funny how that wasn't your problem with it yesterday. Declaring in advance never came up. Good to see you changing your argument yet again when the facts prove you wrong. It seems like it happens once or twice a day now.

You have already demonstrated your misunderstanding of Obama's strategy and you further do so here.

He never stated it was his idea to announce ahead of time that we would do this.

The only thing this shows is your lack of understanding, or more likely, your eagerness to misrepresent.

Obama's strategy was followed, and I'm glad we had success with it.

Bush's approach led to a massive defeat of Musharraf's party in yesterday's elections, and may signal the end of his time as leader of Pakistan, and the rise of a new government much less friendly to the US. Not surprising that when the US props up unpopular dictators, bad things eventually happen.

So not only will we have not aggressively gone after Al Queda in Pakistan the last several years, but the point of that - to help Musharraf hold on to power - may be a failure as well. Brilliant leadership.

You're truly delusional. You seriously cannot reason properly. When somebody ANNOUNCES that he's going to do something, that is equivalent to stating his strategy. Hussein Ubama announced it. Bush just went and took care of business. I prefer the Bush's superior strategy. Hussein Ubama has a lot to learn.

Only took Bush 6 years to figure it out - after Obama gave him the idea, of course.

Do you understand the specific vs. the general? He announced that under certain conditions he would do certain things. That is far different than giving a specific warning from announcing ahead of time.

As has already been pointed out, the problem you had wasn't that it was forecast in advanced. The problem you had was that it might upset nuclear Pakistan.

As Major pointed out, Bush only did this after Obama mentioned it.

You two are a trip. Right, Bush is taking cues from Hussein Ubama. We've never had predator drones over pakistan until Hussein Ubama had this great idea. You two are delusional and cannot reason properly due to your kool-aid induced Ubama manlove.

Man, you guys are really good at following the leader - taking credit for everything: speeches, ideas, and plans. Next thing you know, Obama will be credited for saving mankind. Wait, he's already doing that. According to Mrs. Obama, he's going to fix your soul.

On a side note, according to Mrs. Obama, the lady with super high standard, it was the FIRST TIME she's really proud of America after her husband is leading in the democrat primary. I guess the America made her husband a senate, couldn't make her proud. Of course, she would not be proud anymore if her husband didn't win the primary. No wonder she refused to commit to support for Clinton if Hillary gets the nomination.
