Clutch Fans goes back to the 1993-94 season when the Rockets lost big leads in the first 2 games of the 2nd round of the play-offs vs Phoenix at home. The Houston Post printed in big bold letters on the front page:

    CHOKE CITY

The Rockets then went to Phoenix and after trailing big at halftime against Phoenix in game 3, went on to win that one and game 4 and the paper then printed in big bold letters:

    CLUTCH CITY.

The moniker only emboldened itself as the team won 2 game 7s after that and the following year winning the final games of the first 2 rounds on the road.

yeah, i love how yao says "try karate" and karate is japanese yao is chinese and they were at a tae kwon do (korean) gym.

at least use the correct terminology not the ignorant american "every asian is chinese and all martial arts are karate"...
