Yes, because every team, every commercial, every TV program, every movie and every company is moving towards white people. Brad Stevens was leading the Celtics to the playoffs every year, so they moved him to the front office and hired a black coach. Utah allowed a minority owner of the Jazz to be black: D-Wade Rockets saw this movement ahead of time and hired Silas. So the TV broadcast removed Matt Bullard (white) for Ryan Hollns (black) Sure, people clamouring for white coach Becky Hammond. The female part allows this to happen. I go one step further....hire Lisa Leslie. Hit two birds with one stone. Black and female. Just stating the obvious.
I dont want change for change sake. I just want Silas to play the young guys more and leave Theis and House on the bench.
imagine firing Stephen Silas MD Esquire to hire Luke freaking Walton… what an absolute joke of a thread Silas will probably never get another HC job again even tho he was doomed from the start, yet people will STILL advocate for a Luke Walton…so pathetic, but so predictable
The Kings didn't want him, the Sacramento Kings. That team hasn't gone to the playoffs in 16 years. Their attendance has been steadily declining, that new arena helped few years back but losing has taken a toll. GM McNair is putting in his own coach. Silas still better than Luke. I might quit the Rockets for a while if Walton came here.
If one of these guys come; I will... wait them out. Spoiler I might still peek at Rocket games, but will pout while doing so. As far as NBA son coaches, I'd put Silas above Luke Walton and Ryan Saunders.
Sometimes I'm just amazed at the world we live in. The OP thought it so obvious that we should hire Luke Walton that he didn't even feel the need to explain himself. He thought it would be obvious to us all why he would be the perfect coach for this team. Meanwhile, the rest of us are all scratching our heads like "why in the world would we hire one of the worst coaches in the league?" @VoR I am just super curious. Did you think the board would agree with you on this? I don't even have much of an opinion. I think the Kings are a terrible franchise and that any coach would struggle to succeed in that terrible of a franchise (and I worry that may now be true for us too).
