That is where the ability of 'disgression' to cover all sins of Authority come into play. They can say anything . .they and write anything . .. they control the situations. . . .. .

If there was no video and she lived . . would anyone believe her about how the stop went down?
Now that there is video . . .w they dismiss it and contort to affirm the belief that cops are never wrong .. . or less wrong than the person.

Unfortunately for black natives (and some others) someone has to suffer in a society that only cares about money and war...

But that interview is the exact reason why I can care less about ISIS because the government I pay taxes to do evil and conniving shyt themselves.

There's no upside to acting that way. It only serves to escalate the situation.

Ms Bland clearly escalated the situation needlessly by her actions. She could have gotten away with a warning otherwise.

Honestly, without the video I'd be more inclined to think that the officer did something to set the crazy woman off. Having seen the video, she was just nuts from the start.

The culture of corruption in a cesspool like Baltimore has nothing to do with this case at all.

Being overly combatant to a cop that is just doing his job and not treating you poorly is crazy to me. Why would anyone give a cop that is being cool a reason to mess with them?

Even worse, why would anyone refuse to get out of their car when a cop orders them out of the vehicle?

There's a thin line between crazy and stupid and this woman was tap dancing across that line and back during the stop.

Intelligently questioning authority when given reason to is one thing. This woman went full r****d.

Either blind or willfully ignorant. Read the thread title: Waller County: 'Illegal' Lane Change leads to Death

You, the OP, and others are seeking vicarious justice. The officer did NOT kill this woman. His actions did NOT force, influence or otherwise contribute to her death. She sat in jail for 3 days while her family and friends ignored her. It was not until her death that her arrest became a story. The responsibility for her actions lie with her alone.

At this point it is obvious that y'all only want this officer to be found guilty of a crime and to be sent to jail either as justice for this woman's death or as justice against other officers' transgressions.

Your definition of 'being cool' is warped

    Define: Intelligently questioning

My definition of "being cool" is a cop writing you a warning after seeing you commit 2 traffic violations right in front of him in less than a minute. I'd love to have that cop be the one to pull me over because I'm not stupid enough to turn that into a trip to jail.

One would be intelligently questioning authority if they told you to do something either you weren't legally required to do or that was actually illegal. An example of intelligently questioning or refusing authority would be if you were pulled over for suspicion of DUI and the officer was asking you to do a roadside sobriety test or blow into a breathalyzer and you refused....which you have the right to do.

Telling a cop you aren't getting out of your car, is simply stupid.

Plumbing and housekeeping 101: give people someplace other than a toilet or sink drain to throw away solid trash, and put some physical barrier between the trash itself and the bin you don't want to have to wash out every day.

You really love beating straw men don't you? Did I(ignore other posters), myself, explicitly or implicitly state anywhere in this thread that the officer committed an illegal act? Her time in her jail cell and the traffic stop are two separate issues. I don't give a **** about the thread title. I didn't make any assumptions about some conspiracy that the state trooper murdered her or was in any way involved.

Any other career, the bar for being terminated from a position is not whether an act is illegal or not. That is a pretty low ****ing bar. Why should law enforcement be treated differently? He put forth is ego and pride before serving and using basic common sense deescalation. He could EASILY ignore her verbal disgruntlement and her cigarette. He easily could have written the ****ing ticket instead of forcefully removing her from her vehicle because he felt like his ego was challenged. He does not deserve a career in law enforcement.

Seriously, what is up with these posters and their SERIOUSLY low standards for the law enforcement profession. To me, true disrespect of the LE community is when you coddle them like children as if they can't carry themselves out like calm and collective adults.
