Yeah Rasheed sure won that one. That fan will be sitting at home watching the game while Sheed is being suspended. Yeah, scoreboard Rasheed Wallace! The fans weren't on the court where they were stopping Rasheed from getting at a couple of the Golden State players. That fan was an @ss, but that was so stupid to go into the crowd like that. Nothing good can ever come out of that. And Bonzi Wells is acting more and more like a goon and that's a shame because the guy is good. It's not the Blazers fault like RM95 said, but the Blazers, knowing their reputation is getting hit on, have to be smarter then this. A frustrated crowd, a frustrated team (the Warriors), things are getting tense, get the hell out of there because the only thing that can possibly happen is that you get hurt or you get suspended after winning a big game.
I'm sorry, but I'll have to side with Rasheed on this one. Some fans think that just because they pay for a ticket, it gives them the right to abuse the players. It's not like Wallace went Mad Max and charged up into the stands. Some verbal heckling is OK, but the dude tossed his beer at Wallace. I would have gone up there and wailed on him...
The fan was an idiot, but Rasheed should have been a professional, and just go straight to locker room.
I heard that Mills parked his car infront of the Blazers Team Bus. Also, how are the suspensions going to work? The game was over, and during fights, people on the bench are not suppose to leave. The game is over, you're suppose to leave. I bet Rasheed gets hit with eight games for just going to the stands. Bonzi Gets four games. Chris Mills will probably get hit with five, and Troy Murphs is gonna get two. My predicitions.
Rasheed shouldn't have gone into the stands. But the guy that did this was looking for a fight or atleast looking to act big and bad. Why else do you push a guys buttons who is being restrained after being involved in a fight? This guy is a big, fat **** and I wish Sheed would have pulled his punk ass into the tunnel with him and the rest of the Blazers.
everyone involved in that are classless clowns led by Mills, Wallace, and wells they should be so embarresed for acting 5 year old ****heads
I am behind Rasheed Wallace all the way. Since about 4 yrs ago(when B.Grant was still on the squad), I think Rasheed is a talented, talented player. He has the post moves, he can bump ppl out, hook shot, shoot the 18, and sometimes even the triples. He is the complete package. He makes a lot of teams jealous. But I just cannot stand how fans(even fans of Portland) always get on him. Yeah, it's the NBA. I like the classy players like Hakeem and Yao. But I also enjoy the bad-ass attitude of Wallace and Rodman. it just makes the game so much more interesting. They bring ppl to the seats. They are the reasons there are rivalries in the NBA. The playoffs in the late 90's wouldn't be half as interesting for the Rockets if Karl Malone and Stockton play clean. Instead, it's because of their dirty plays (and many times beautiful basketball playing) that gets the crowd the ups and downs in the game. No one should hate these players for their outside-the-NBA business. Just let them play their game. Let Iverson complain about his fouls. Let Jalen Rose and Kurt Thomas play on Christmas day. Let Chris Webber and Shaq chat against each other. Let them have their attitudes.
ESPN.com is reporting that Wells got a 2-game suspension for throwing a punch and Wallace was fined $15,000 for going into the stands. The NBA is going to make another announcement tomorrow (probably regarding Mills and Murphy).
Exactly! Maxwell was suspended for 10 games and fined $20,000. Im really disappointed in the NBA. I have nothing against Wallace, but I was really expecting him to get the same treatment as Maxwell got. Maxwell's reason for going into the sands was because he felt someone had said something about his stillborn daughter and had also called him a racial ephithet. Wallace's reason was because someone dumped their beer on him. So its ok to go into the stands if someone throws some liquid on you but its not if someone calles you the N word and pokes fun at a dead member of your family? Not giving a Wallace a suspension is sending the wrong message to the rest of the NBA. They are saying that going into the stands to go after a fan used to be a no-no, but now, its ok as long as you pay a fine. Bottom line, there is NO EXCUSE, EVER, for a player in any sport to go into the stands after a fan. Just like there is no reason, EVER, for a fan to come onto the court and challenge a player. The NBA messed up bigtime on this one folks.
Man, was i WAY off. If i was Russ Granik or who ever does the discipline, I would of been hard, and severe on Portland, and G State.
I don't care who started the brawl. There is no place for this in the NBA. These are rich people getting paid millions to play a GAME that they love. This is not the NFL. NBA players do not wear body armor. Someone could have been seriously injured. Especially with that chair. The suspension for GSW should have been longer IMHO. Pippen(i still hate the b*stard) and the other players that walked away did exactly the right thing. For one night the there was another jailblazer team. flame on....... PS. And this was nothing like Mad Max attacking a fan. They were just talking @#%$. If someone threw their beer on me...I would be whooping some ass!!!!!
"And this was nothing like Mad Max attacking a fan. They were just talking @#%$. If someone threw their beer on me...I would be whooping some ass!!!!!" just talking **** about his still born daughter and calling him the N word. Now I understand that might not push your buttons, but I'm betting you don't have a still born daughter and you're not black. Frankly, I'd much rather have a beer thrown on me moments before I go shower. I can't believe you think the fan here was more out of line....
I respect him as a basketball player. But seriously, this guy needs to be thrown in jail and be Bubba's b****!
