Look what the organization did, put an all star point guard on ice to give an emotionally unstable player an opportunity be evaluated all the while the team lacks leadership to develop its rookie roster. Historically bad two seasons. Now they want to win the rest of there games which takes away the chance of a top 5 pick. WHY?
Desperate teams trying to make the playoffs who see a 1 year gamble and a chance to dump some of their own bad contracts.
My point being... when he wanted to come back and play... we should have run him for 6 or 10 games or whatever - with the focus being to make him look good (think OKC pumping WBs stats)... and pray somebody (like the Clips - or maybe LA for WB + 1st) were desperate enough to throw the dice... but this dude hadnt even been on the floor for months... had just come back from major injury last year... who knows what kinda condition he's in... We simply made gambling on Wall an even bigger gamble than it had to be... and nobody bit. The common retort is citing that Wall could get injured... so what... if he's just gonna be used as lame duck expiring anyway then who cares if he's injured (like Rubio this year). The only instance where Wall's health comes into play is if someone is interested in Wall as a player - and not just as a contract... and we did nothing to create any interest in Wall the player... Maybe any efforts would have been wasted time... but at least put forth the effort... imo.
I am not a Wall fan but he is already here why not use him? My thought is a hobbled Wall is a stead hand for a bunch of rookies trying to find their way. Wall would put Wood in his place, too. I think Wood & Gordon would have been moved at the deadline because their numbers would be better. Green & Sengun need the structure to grow that Wall would bring. Silas could actually be coaching instead of babysitting. Now we have two entitled head cases for all the effort put forth. Wall is not a perfect player but he has functional skills.
