Good news but… I kind of really hope we trade for Westbrook, collect an asset from it, and then do a ceremonial GTFO cut.
It really doesnt matter what discount he gets except to Fertitta's pockets. For us fans the only important thing is he gets off the roster and it's used on a project with a chance of developing
I could’ve sworn I heard a insider the other day talk about how Wall was gonna take less to get bought out. Same insider said Gordon was happy in Houston but just needed to agree to a new contract as the team really likes his presence around the younger guys
Couldnt care less if he is rotting on the bench or gets a buyout. The buyout could possibly save tilman money and make wall happy, but does nothing for the team either way.
If he took a big enough cut it might make a difference - currently 20mill over the cap (incl holds), renouncing Bruno and Schroeder makes it 10mill over. A buyout differs from a waiving in that it is a mutually renegotiated salary, which is the cap hit. But it would have to be renegotiated to such a massive degree that it wouldn't have been worth his while to opt in. All in all I agree with your comments - it won't make a tangible difference!!
Well he's cheap AF so hope he does get a discount to his pockets lol. Can't wait for the Wall era to end tho.
Opens up a roster spot that could be used on somebody that might get to play a few minutes before the season is over. That's not nothing.
Digested remains of CP3's all vegan diet. I guess we lucky we didn't get fined for "load managing" Wall for an entire season, What a knee slapper,
Would you rather have a buyout or take back multiple contracts that most likely aren’t expiring and for players that aren’t even in the short/long term plans Buy the man out so we can move on as a team
Id rather just have him expire and keep our cap space next year. He could possibly build a raport with tyty and thats more valuable then another low end project or some other bad contract.
