This thread is a joke. We don't need this kind of thread to take up the forum space. Leave it to the fans who want to follow the Rockets closely and care about the Rockets day and night. Leave it for the meaningful topics the fans are interested in discussing. Don't use this as the opportunity to increase the number of your posts because it won't upgrade your level of membership.

Well, if anything, I am watching to see when Yao returns to being Ming-V-P again. I am also watching to see if the MacMing punch becomes the MacMing knockout combo :D

And... oh yeah, I am watching Rafer's development into a darkhorse All-Star candidate :D

I hardly really watch a WHOLE game from beginning to end. My mind wonders and I have to switch around and do something else every now and then.

But I do get as much coverage and then some by reading game analysis and such from articles and of course this site. :)

    Well, I guess.

But here's a question: Bigger Cardinals fan or Rockets fan?

A Rockets fan who isn't interested in the Rockets. I think you pretty much answered the question yourself. Do you even usually post in here? lol.

actually, I do just the opposite...when its playoff time ther is no way I watch the game with other people..i'm too nervous and I don't want anybody talking to me when i'm throwing stuff at the TV or jumping off the couch...I can't handle any distractions.....

oh and to the fan who started this thread...you don't watch the games but you log on to this site to tell us about it..WTF.....how about you save that time and watch the game next time.....what a r****ded thread!!!!

What sort of fan stops watching his team-clinched playoffs aside? If the team was 20-40 I can understand why one might stop tuning in, I know last year, towards the end, when it became fully apparent that we weren't gonna right the ship I stopped making it a priority to catch every game I could, though I never stopped keeping up with the team and catching a game here and there when it was convienient for me, but we've got a top 5 team fighting to get HC and playing some great basketball (with the occasional snag here or there). This time of the season is the time you have to really enjoy. We've clinched a playoff spot, are almost guaranteed the 5th seed, are fighting to get HC against the Jazz, and have a great team that is meshing... if those aren't reasons to tune in I don't know what is. Plus, you might as well enjoy the end of the regular season before the playoffs because you never know where it's gonna end in the post season.

Personally I still catch every game I can, and even though I have two 5:25-8:05 night classes during the week that usually interfere with Rockets game time I manage to catch the majority of games. Like I mentioned previously, this part of the season, for me, is one of the most enjoyable when it comes to kicking back and just watching the team. We have a good chance at stealing homecourt right out from underneith the Jazz, and we are continuing to grow as a team heading into the playoffs, with Yao and McGrady starting to really gel in the roles we need them to gel in. Aside from rooting for home court and watching the team, now pretty much healthy, mesh as it was meant to going into the playoffs, who isn't interested in the rockets getting on a streak and steam rolling into the playoffs?

There is still plenty to watch and root for, but the real beauty of it all is that losses, while never a positive, mean a lot less than they did at the beginning and middle of the season. Don't get me wrong, we don't want losses heading into the playoffs and during our quest for HC, but when they do happen (as long as they aren't numerous in occurance) it's not as devistating now that we've clinched the playoffs and are pretty much locked into the 5th spot. As long as our team maintains the 5th seed, and barring a historic collapse we will stay at 5, it's all pretty much good. It is indeed a great time to be a Rockets fan.

When I'm watching with others, I try to be the normal ra-ra fan. But when I watch by myself I somehow always slip into the coach/GM/scout mode.

    I don't understand this talk.

thats why you gotta stay outta that other forum, look what it can do to you.

Rocket spirit never dies. Especially now. Now is when you should be ready to bust loose.

This is nitty gritty time for a Rockets fan, snap out of it man!

Perhaps you need to "gear up" in the mean time.

Man, you don't know how lucky you are that you get to watch the Rockets. The only games I can catch are the nationally televised game and the 8 games they play against the Lakers and Clippers. I would kill at the chance to see the Rockets play. I never miss a game that I can watch, even if I have something important to do. Most of the time, I just watch it while my girlfriend is doing homework or something and then she starts laughing at me when I start to curse at the television whenever the Rockets mess up.... Can't wait for tomorrow's game against the Lakers.

Yeah, the games are pretty meaningless - but this is a good thread becuase it seperates those who just love the Rockets from those who just care about seeing the Rockets accomplish stuff in the playoffs.

Personally, it's just a pleasure to watch these guys play.

Amen, preach on my brotha! ;)

I am very excited about the playoffs, but I was just as excited to watch them pull out that game against the Clippers. And I was just as excited when Yao played his first game back. And I am just as excited at the prospect of seeing Tmac pull a "Kobe" in tonight's game and stun the Laker crowd.

They are all good people, working hard to become better professionals. I like a team that is more than just two superstars going for a ring, this is about a full team effort going for improving themselves in order to go for a ring.

I know, how boring. Couldn't they have intentionally lose so we'd beat them at the last second? The Rockets are so inconsiderate putting bad teams away in the 3rd quarter like they're supposed to. I quit!
