Gordon and Granger should have a fight to the death to see which one shoots over 38% from the floor first....... it will be awhile.

I would love to get Gordon, granger or even terry. A sleeper is Orlando Johnson. I've only seen him in summer league and just a few games for the pacers but he looks like he's got some talent and upside. Plus it's always feels better when you sign someone that was on a championship contender.

I did post that Earl might be a useful replacement for Casspi and insurance for Jones and D-Mo. Casspi is definitely better on defense than Earl. When Casspi starts missing his shots, he looks limited at times. Perhaps Earl can play better, like when he was with Lakers if he rejoins Dwight.

Give me Glen Davis or Ivan Johnson if he's available.

Here's a short list of some potential waivees:

    Richard Jefferson
    Andres Biedrins
    Marvin Williams
    Brandon Rush
    Jodie Meeks
    Anthony Morrow
    Jason Maxiell
    Jameer Nelson
    Jimmer Fredette
    Travis Outlaw (*)

Also, we should keep in mind the possibility of another "Pat Beverley" type signing by Morey. That being some guy in Europe or somewhere on the freaking globe that is an NBA caliber player that happens to come free. In the interest of this possibility I have come up with another player that I am wondering about his availability to escape his Euro team and head back to the states.

    Scotty Hopson (**)

    ------------------------------------------------------

the (*) on Travis Outlaw is simply because he has another guaranteed season of $3 million coming to him. If Sacramento wanted to buy him out, they could probably get him to agree to a buyout for just this year's salary if they knew a team would offer Outlaw the Room MLE after he cleared waivers. In our case, the Room MLE essentially amounts to right at $2 million remaining for the season. That would leave Outlaw less than $1 million short after he gets some playoff money but with the opportunity to sign a fresh contract after this year. So this is a possibility in an ode to the famous Aaron Brooks buyout of last year where we paid Brooks around $2.4 million out of our cap space to play 38 minutes in the regular season plus 67 minutes in the playoffs for a honking grand total of 95 minutes (around 3x the amount of money Lebron was paid per minute).

    (**)
Scotty Hopson in a possible ode to Patrick Beverley, an undrafted swingman out of Tennessee, still relatively young, athletic as all get out, and he blew away Euroleague in 11 games this year. Now he's disappeared, suffering from an alleged injury that you can't get any information on, and his Euroteam just lost again in the Top 16 and is probably on their way out. He hasn't played for them in around 3-4 weeks now. Now he may be injured but he has looked well enough for an NBA team to take a "Pat Beverley" style flyer on him. Shot the 3 well, Finished well, drew fouls and shot his free throws. And he has all the athletic "potential" to be a plus defender.

This would be a typical Morey signing out of nowhere. Perhaps you guys that follow Euroleague can find some more free agents over there that are playing quality ball and would gladly come to the States for a shot at the NBA.

Apparently Caron butler might be bought out. That's the guy you go for, he's actually playing and scoring unlike granger and gordon

    EARL CLARK ANYONE?

Earl Clark has been waived by the 76ers, a day after getting traded to them.

He's better talent wise than both granger and terry, but it would seem unlikely now that we pick up a waived player

Sam Hinki is flat out tanking, and to be honest, I've lost all respect for him.

I truly did not understand what Hinkie was doing. Clark had a relatively expensive contract, so why didn't the Sixers just let Hawes contract run out. Don't tell me that the Sixers needed two second rounders that bad. They probably will never use them.

    Sixers are tanking badly.

Earl Clarke would make this team better.

Respect to Hinke for tanking properly.

Wish we could use this connection to trade McHale for Brett Brown.

If Asik is not staying with us long-term, I see the need to get a back-up center. Someone who can eventually take the place of Howard how many years down the road. We don't know how many good years Howard can give us.

More than signing Hamilton, I prefer signing Clark.

Also James Johnson playing well makes me rue the fact that Morey did not sign him up. Why did we keep Brewer so long?

Look, Clark did not make the rotation in the Cavs. He is tall and he has a 3pt shot, but that's about it. His FG% and adjusted FG% are terrible. His FT% also is in the 50's. Not a great rebounder. Nevertheless, he was sitting on a $4.25 mil contract for 2 years. I don't think the Rockets need that.

I'd rather have Greg Smith. Asik has been injured and needs time to get in shape. Smith knows the system and can play the 4/5. We're looking at potentially being 2nd in the West. No reason to get a guy who's not an upgrade over Jones and DMo. If we had an open roster spot, then maybe for the minimum.

Haha, why? Tanking is really common, there aren't many teams (outside of the Rockets), who became contenders without getting a major player through the draft.

    Thunder - KD, Westbrook
    Spurs - Duncan, Parker, Manu
    Clippers - Griffin
    Heat - Wade
    Pacers - George, Hibbert
Blazers (if you count them) - Aldridge, Lillard

Well sure drafting well is an important key but the discussion here is tanking

San Antonio picked Parker late in the 1st and Manu late in the 2nd

Pacers picked HIbbert in the middle of the 1st round and George late in the lotto

Blazers picked Lillard with NJ's pick

Rest of examples are solid tho.
