Lol, so true...I think that name is taboo here or something..... This has to be the first thread related to Beer Belly Francis
he is not making trouble so far. He still wants to win, at least he says so. Give him another chance to prove him. You dont cut a guy after 3 games into the season if you didnt cut him before the season. We havent played contenders enough to say we are all set as we are right now to go deep after April. If he is patient, why shouldnt we?
the last time i checked, prior performance was still a relevant (and actually quite signifcant) evaluation tool among fans and management alike in judging whether or not someone can contribute to the team. the fact that he's Steve Francis might actually still mean something in terms of his ability to return to a certain level of play, even if he's not there yet. whereas if some guy with no prior experience in the NBA had the same situation, well...he's never succeeded in the NBA before, so what indication do we have that he will perform better? you have to draw the line on anecdotes somewhere.
Don't worry ... by about 10:30 pm tonight we'll have a new topic to piss and moan about regardless of whether we win or lose. Or that could just be wishful thinking and there'll be a dozen more Francis threads before morning.
ppl come on we have 79 more game to go, b/f we start to worry about whether SF3 is staying or going...
Right now he is too patient. If he wants to be part of the rotation he has to work out some more...not saying he's fat or anything....just out of shape. He still has his hops and obviously still (and should) know how to shoot the rock. He can prove to be valuable in case anyone goes down....damn I hope that doesn't turn into a jinx

He doesn't even get any playtime on the court so why are you complaining? It's not like RA is giving him 20 mins a game and who cares what the other posters are saying about giving him PT. He'll get it when he earns it or when we need it.
After reading your incoherent rambling, I still don't know your logic by waiving Francis? It doesn't hurt to keep him. The best reason to hold on to Francis is to keep Alston in check.
This has to be one fo the truest statements I've ever seen DD make on the BBS. Just being facetious, but the similarities are amazing: - Both are point guards in name but really combo guards. - Both are great at slashing and getting to the basket. - V-Span was an all-star and the man in Greece. Steve used to be an all-star and the man in Houston. - Both signing decisions were made largely by the front office and without the coach's input. - Both need to dominate the ball to be effective. - Both have glaring deficiencies in their games and have major problems fitting into the team's system. - And now we have the exact same controversy with both: the coach refuses to play them, and fans are clamoring for playing time. Thus fans accuse the coach of being stubborn and biased. Only difference is that Steve isn't nearly the crybaby that Spanoulis is. At least not yet (I certainly hope it doesn't come to that.)
Only on the Clutch BBS can the Rockets go undefeated and still b**** incessantly about the playing time of the 12th man. God bless this site.
