I know that getting a break between playoff games can be a good thing but it can also be bad. I hope that we are ready to play on Monday and we do not have effort issues.

    Anybody else's thoughts?

Won't matter really. The big plus for me is hoping our guys aren't getting banged up/injured in practice while Spurs/Clippers run that risk (see Glen Davis).

Jason terry and prigs need rest. Longer we wait, better chance bev comes back.

Usually I'm against long stretches of time off in the playoffs, but with this team the rest is much need. Prigs and terry are old as hell. Dwight needs to rest his knee and Ariza plays (shoots) much better on fresh legs.

Yes, it's a good thing. Especially with the other series going 7. That means Game 1 will be heavily favored toward the Rockets. They'll have far more energy than whichever team comes to Toyota Center and should get the win provided they execute and play well(i.e. no 20+ turnovers and 65% or less shooting at the foul line).

For those who've been fans for a long time, just think back to 1997 when we faced the Sonics in Round 2. We swept the T'Wolves while Seattle needed to go the full 5 games to beat the Suns. Game 1 was a massacre.

Need our lord and saviour Bev back.

I wish there was some sort of natural catastrophe (such as a rain of animals) that would strike Los Angeles so that the series is extended.

I want to see Bev guarding CP3.

The rest is good. Rust is a myth.

No matter which team wins, there are some good things for the Rockets:

The team will be weary, while the Rockets will be fresh.

BOTH teams, no matter who wins, both of them have been made to feel very vulnerable at home. The downside of course is that both teams have also won twice on the road. This is why it was critical for us to get Home Court for as many of these games as possible - holding Home Court will be absolutely MANDATORY.

Both the Clips & Spurs have shown they can be beaten at home. We are 3-0 at home. I believe we can beat either of those teams on the road, and if we can hold our home court, then the advantage is ours.

I am hoping for the Clips more than the Spurs, but either one of them is going to be extremely tough.

The rest can only help us, help the team rest, and especially help the coaches to come up with good game plans.

Rust is a myth, propogated by bored fans and media who have nothing to talk about between playoff series.

Practice time is never bad. Gives you time to design a new wrinkle in your gameplan...let's cheerleaders make new outfits and choreograph new dances,,,and let's fans get some work done in between series (and I need it). Plus, I get to go hobie cat sailing this weekend in the Bay.

Rust is the biggest fan/media non-story there is in all playoff talk in sports. This story only exists because people get bored and need to talk about something.

And this is apparently only a Basketball thing

MLB teams never say rust is bad. Then want their pitchers fresh

NFL teams never talk about the horrors of getting a first round bye in the playoffs. Not to mention Super Bowl play shows teams at their absolute peak.

    Soccer? Don't think so

Can you explain why you would prefer the Clippers? I have been back and forth with this, and I'm starting to learn towards the Spurs.

The truth is, we were going to have to wait until Monday to play Game 1, whether the Spurs won last night or not. So we can't really do anything about the time off.

Rest is always good, plus in the playoffs. Give you time to work on issues that happen versus Dallas. Can scout the team we will go against.

I think it is a good thing, the rockets have many bad free-throw players, so they can have an extra time to practice.

Harden led the league in minutes and Dwight has been injured all season and our point guards are dinosaurs. They all need the rest.

Remember the Spurs went to 7 last year with Dallas and easily handled Portland...not a good comparison but anything can happen.

overall I think its a good thing, they need to fix the turnover problem that was keeping Dallas into it honestly most of the series, also hit 77 free throws in a row, might help them :)

The difference between the two teams, as far as toughness of opponents goes, I think is minimal - they both present extreme challenges.

However, the Clips' depth is awful, and it just got a lot worse. I think they are mentally a far weaker team than the Spurs, and we would be much better off facing Doc Rivers than Poppovich. Plus, I am not sure I want San Antonio coming in here having just won three road games in a single series.

Blake Griffin is much more likely to make a bone-headed play in crunch-time than Tim Duncan.

Plus, more and longer travel for the Clips is not a bad thing either.

So, very slightly, I am leaning toward hoping the Clips win.

Add Ariza and Harden to those two. Six days of rest will be great to get their legs back. Terry and Prigs are just old. Harden and Ariza have been our marathon players, and this long break will help bring their shooting back.

The benefits of rest probably outweigh the challenges of rust. It's extra time for swelling to go down and injuries to heal. And more time to study tape and gameplan for how to exploit the opponent's weaknesses.

I never think it matters enough to win or lose you a series any ways.

Great thing especially considering the opponents.

Spurs are old, so less rest for them is great.

Clippers are literally 6 deep (the rest of their players are complete garbage), so they are really overplaying their best 6.

I really like our chances in this series seeing how brutal this series has been on them 2.
