The Rocket's job is to win basketball games, Wafer is better than anyone the Rockets took tonight.

If they paid $2.5 million for a 2nd round pick they wasted their money...they could have given that money to a PROVEN NBA player and signed Wafer.

I don't know if he is done or not, but if Taylor and White can replace him,we might be able to use the MLE on a backup center.

I think you overvalue Von Wafer and undervalue Morey, DD.

Perhaps, but for every Landry, there is a Dorsey.....

And Brooks was Adelman....I like Morey in trades, but his drafts have been iffy in my opinion.

And, tonight was no exception...I doubt any of these players makes a difference, unless through trade.

What proven NBA player would the Rockets be able to sign for $2.5 or even $3 million? Any decent player offered that much by the Rockets, could easily get that much from most other teams.

Carl Landry worked out for them. We'll just have to wait and see.

McGrady could still be traded  I'm hoping but it's "Candle in the Wind" stuff right now...

i believe were gonna let wafer walk and after we resign artest were gonna target mcdyess to back-up yao using part of the mle on him instead of wafer it makes sense... imagine if james white got minutes our bench would be super athletic lowry, taylor, white, landry, mcdyess is a solid bench :D

    $2500000 .......

I doubt Morey has the gut to throw that much of his boss' money into the waste.

Except the 2.5 million on this one doesn't count against the cap. When you're expected to butt against the luxury tax, that matters.

Further, your perspective is extremely short sighted -- this 2.5 million lets you sign a guy for probably 3 years at less than 3m total. Even if Wafer does sign for 2.5m (which is probably being optimistic), a 3 year deal nets out to somewhere between 8-9 mill.

No way they spent that much money on the pick.....? (I don't know)

Weren't the Lakers willing to sell their pick for 1,000,000 + next year's number 2 draft pick.

Wouldn't that be a better deal, than paying 2,500,000?

Knicks paid $3M to the Lakers. News was obviously wrong about the Rockets.

Well sure I am, the money doesn't count against it, but this guy is not going to make a difference unless it is in trade.
