Wafer is not t-mac in terms of talent level or playing making.. but his 3-pointer and driving ability makes the inside-outside system works a whole lot better, also makes double teaming Yao much harder... T-mac's game may not be able to fully utilized with Yao compare to Wafer's game since T-mac's biggest advantage is being a tall passer... which IMO not that critical for a inside-outside or princeton system... my point is sometimes it's all about what works better for the system, not about who's a better player... Look at 76ers, without Brand they are doing so much better... just a thought.. not judging anyone
If Tracy would play hard and run the floor(run off some screens every once in a while)I do not think this would be an issue..... Hopefully he gets healthy enough(physically and mentally) to play through the offense and instead of demanding the ball, work off of it....
He doesn't make Yao better. McGrady sucks on scoring right now, and Wafer >>> McGrady at this stage, but playmaking wise, Wafer is far from McGrady. McGrady makes Yao better than anyone else in the team simply because he knows him better and knows where Yao wants the ball.
Wafer doesnt make Yao better. But I think Yao's playing better now than the 1st 2 months of this season. Yao seems to get his confidence back and move better than the 1st 2 months.
Nobody make Yao much better, Yao have become such a good center greatly due to his hard work. Without tmac Yao is just a suck player or a general player? I cant agree. If must I choose one, I would take Francis. he helped Yao alot when Yao was a rookie. He desever it..
Your title is really eye popping. He's done really well recently. But let's not go too far yet and keep an eye on him.
I disagree. Teams have been sagging off of TMac this year and daring him to shoot the 3 because they know he will and they know that most of the time he will miss. This allows defenders to double or triple Yao in the post much faster when the ball comes to him. Their lack of respect for TMacs outside shot also allows them to play the passing lane much more, making it hard for the Rockets to move the ball and in effect slow down the ball movement. TMac has been at his best this year posting up or taking it strong to the basket, neither of which does Yao any great favors. Wafer has been hitting 40 percent of his threes and a better than 50 percent field goal percentage. Teams have to respect his scoring potential and plan for it now. Teams are no longer sagging off of Wafer and daring him to shoot the 3 point shot or ignoring him until he gets to the rim. This by istself helps Yao tremendously. Wafer seldom dominates the ball, he usually makes quick decissions by shooting, driving hard to the rim or passing it very quickly. If you heard the Miami coach at half time (people watching NBA League Pass) then you heard the coach talk about Wafer. They game planned against him and were making half time adjustments specifically for Wafer. This is exactly the type of help that Yao Ming needs and yes...it makes him better. Regretably, teams do not have to do much game planning for TMac now.
The same people that have been watching the Rockets games this year. TMac has been just horrible this year and you know it. TMac has been an anchor for this team. You are basing your shock at the idea on the name TMac. It's TMac so he must be one of the greatest players and he must be playing great. If Wafer had been playing like TMac you would be calling for the team to cut his ass. If TMac had been playing like Wafer you would be trying to put him on the all star team and talking about how great he and Yao are together.
This is just to shut everyone up hehe: T-Mac >>>>>> MJ + Dream + Shaq + Kobe + Entire NBA T-Mac, now prove yourself.
T-mac still gets double teamed. I don't know where you see his defender sagging off him to double Yao. Sure T-mac has gotten some open looks but Yao getting doubled is not about T-mac.
