This one's a head-scratcher unless there's a trade in the works. I'm surprised Wafer didn't choose Memphis, where I think he'd have a chance at getting significant minutes off the bench. Now I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.
10 day contracts can't be signed until 1/5/2010 so Von should have gotten a contract. The deal seems strange since Budingers injury is not season ending and tmac is playing. Only thing that makes sense is Morey is signing him for the future when tmac isn't here. Glad he's back, elite athlete that made me jump out of my chair with his slam dunks.
Woah woah woah!?!?! Wafer ain't on all-star, but he'll do JUST FINE bringing some scoring off the bench!
I don't know why he wouldn't get significant minutes with us? He got big minutes last year, and his style of play fits this years team so much better. Another brilliant move by the Morey man. If he had resigned him this off season it would have been way more expensive I assume.
This is why you are one of my favorite posters. No more scoring droughts, and as someone one pointed out, we will kill teams with our speed. That is the game plan.
Wait a minute this is Kill Bill in reverse. This whole incident was a Greek coach getting a little pay back for what JVG did!  Welcome back Von hope your a Rocket for life!
I don't think they had any expectations from Tmac as a contributor, Budinger however they did. If you are relying on Ariza/Batts/Buding I dont think you bring in extra help. If you are relying on Ariza/Batts/McGrady, I think you do.
This move will allow Ariza to play the SF spot where he belongs and also is Bud's natural position. Von is a two guard much more so than Ariza so I see the 3 spot minutes going down for both Bud and Battier if Ariza slides into that role.

Mohawk time. Good luck Mr. Wafer and please try to control your emotions so that your stay with the Rockets might have a chance to stick.
Hey at least Von went after it. Everyone else on that team would have fallen down and then cried for a charge.
